At Roche, we offer a hybrid work model that combines flexibility with in-person collaboration. For now, we require our employees to be in our offices on average two days per week. The specific office days may vary depending on business needs, such as workshops, conferences, town halls, team meetings, and other collaborative events.

As a Business Analyst, you will independently manage end-to-end business analysis workstreams, tackling complex business problems with emerging ambiguity. You will demonstrate a strong understanding of the business domain, related technologies, and their interdependencies, applying advanced tools and techniques to translate requirements into strategic implementation plans. In this role, you will oversee initiatives with full autonomy and lead analysis efforts across highly ambiguous spaces.  acting  as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams and leadership, shaping stakeholder perspectives, handling process interdependencies, and significantly contributing to the design and validation of effective solutions. You will also actively shape long term roadmaps, drive consensus through persuasive communication and recommend optimal technology solutions. You will also mentor junior analysts and actively shape team processes, methodologies, and best practices within the broader Community of Practice.

The opportunity: 

• Scope / Leadership: Leads business analysis for initiatives or workstreams with autonomy. Independently manages end-to-end business analysis workstreams without guidance, tackling problems with emerging ambiguity. Proficiently adapts a range of standard frameworks, mentors junior and intermediate BAs, and proactively shapes team ways of working and best practices.
• Accountability/Problem Solving: Leads the analysis of business problems, performs thorough domain research, and drives root cause analysis. Accountable for delivering comprehensive requirements, contributing significantly to solution selection, and proactively identifying needs-solution discrepancies to propose creative improvements.
• Stakeholder Management: Identifies a diverse range of cross-functional stakeholders and builds reliance through deep business understanding to act as a trusted advisor. Facilitates workshops, resolves conflicts, and proactively shapes stakeholder perspectives to strategically manage expectations and align them with project goals.
• Impact/Strategy: Delivers impact that extends to a specific product, initiative, or cluster, contributing to domain goals by ensuring solutions provide demonstrable business value. Translates requirements into strategic implementation plans, influences tactical decisions, and contributes to long-term solution roadmaps.
• Complexity / (Product Size): Works at a solution or product level involving multiple solutions, handling ambiguous requirements and systematically interacting with stakeholders across a broader product environment. Evaluates solution impacts considering both immediate and long-term business implications.
• Business / Technical ability: Demonstrates a deep understanding of business and technical domains, technologies, and their interdependencies. Independently applies tools, principles, and techniques related to requirements, data, usability, and process analysis to manage interconnections and improve overall efficiency.

Who you are:

Education / Experience

• 7+ years of Business Analysis / Consultancy experience, with at least 4+ years in life sciences/pharma or the assigned business function being supported.
• Proven experience independently managing end-to-end BA workstreams, navigating ambiguous requirements, and evaluating strategic solution options.
• Demonstrated experience in translating requirements into strategic implementation plans that align with overall business objectives.
• Strong communication skills to manage stakeholders and facilitate discussions between business and IT users globally
• Familiar with Agile product delivery methodologies, backlog management and delivering GxP validated systems.

Technical Skills

• Advanced knowledge of Business Analysis/Consultancy concepts and practices, with expertise in at least one BA capability.
• Strong proficiency in requirements elicitation and documentation, ensuring comprehensive requirements traceability and consistent change management.
• Ability to independently apply tools, principles, concepts, and techniques related to requirements, data, usability, and process analysis.

Additional Qualifications

• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate workshops, resolve conflicts, and define stakeholder engagement strategies across functional areas.
• Strong dedication to mentoring junior and intermediate BAs, helping them organize their activities.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on initiating process improvements and contributing to organizational development, such as active involvement in the Community of Practice (CoP).
• Strong willingness to learn and develop practical experience in AI agent workflows.
• You are someone who thrives in dynamic environments, loves tackling "gray areas," and is passionate about the intersection of technology and human health. You bring structure to chaos and are a natural communicator.

Preferably with:

• Semantic Grounding: Designing structured data pathways to prevent AI hallucination.
• Unstructured Data Skills: Interfacing with NLP and RAG pipelines (protocols, CSRs).
• Platform AI Integrations: Adapting core SaaS platforms to leverage modern Veeva/Falcon AI.
