Amazon Freight is hiring a Business Developer to acquire and launch new Mid-Market customers across our full truckload and less-than-truckload services. You will own the sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through pricing, contracting, and first shipment.

This role is for a seller who creates opportunities rather than waits for inbound demand. You will engage brokers and direct shippers, understand their transportation networks, and build solutions that address service, coverage, and cost. You will work across Pricing, Product, Operations, Shipper Support, Credit, and Finance to remove launch barriers and develop profitable, recurring business.

The right candidate combines disciplined prospecting, customer judgment, data-driven prioritization, and strong follow-through. You will help shape how Amazon Freight reaches Mid-Market customers while developing new accounts into recurring shippers.

Key job responsibilities
- Build and manage a pipeline of qualified Mid-Market prospects across broker and direct-shipper channels.
- Conduct outbound prospecting through phone, email, referrals, industry relationships, and market research.
- Own customer discovery, including freight profile, lane needs, service requirements, buying process, and decision criteria.
- Develop proposals with Pricing and partner teams, negotiate commercial terms, and close new business.
- Coordinate contracting, credit review, onboarding, and launch, with clear ownership through the first shipments.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline stages, forecasts, and next actions.
- Use data to prioritize opportunities, diagnose conversion gaps, and improve sales performance.
- Represent customer needs to Product, Operations, and Shipper Support and resolve barriers that prevent adoption.
- Deliver goals for activated customers, recurring shipping volume, revenue, and profitable growth.

A day in the life
A typical day includes outbound prospecting, customer discovery calls, pipeline inspection, pricing reviews, proposal development, and launch coordination. You will spend much of your time with brokers and direct shippers, then work with Pricing, Operations, Product, Shipper Support, Credit, and Finance to move qualified opportunities forward. You will use CRM and performance data to choose where to focus and maintain clear next steps on every opportunity.

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: B2b Sales, Outbound Prospecting, Logistics, Account Management, and Negotiation. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
