ROLE SUMMARY
The role of the Category Manager will be responsible for delivering and executing strategic sourcing and other procurement processes, supporting all operating countries and all MAF OpCos. The role will need to help in collaborating with stakeholders, Category Leads on the development and implementation of category strategies and plans to achieve goals and objectives and will be accountable for driving improved and sustainable category value.

ROLE PROFILE

• Lead and implement project-level sourcing strategies in line with legal, internal policies, best practices, and business objectives.
• Manage sourcing activities for new project development, ensuring milestones, timelines, and sourcing deliverables are achieved.
• Lead and coordinate the procurement team, ensuring workflow completion, stakeholder alignment, and timely resolution of challenges.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business clients, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
• Drive cost optimization through market intelligence, spend analysis, supplier evaluation, TCO analysis, and commercial negotiations.
• Manage approximately AED 100M annual spend, while achieving agreed annual savings and sourcing targets.
• evelop and manage supplier relationships, including performance management, evaluation, onboarding, and commercial agreements.
• Support procurement governance and process improvements, using eSourcing tools such as eRFx and eAuctions, while regularly reporting sourcing strategies, progress, outcomes, and benefits.

REQUIREMENTS

• Procurement Expertise: 7–9 years of procurement/category management experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably within indirect procurement and technology/digital contracts.
• Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant field, with a professional procurement qualification such as MCIPS preferred.
• Procurement Systems: Strong understanding of best-practice procurement processes, systems, and tools, including Coupa, SAP, Oracle, and eRFx.
• Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing, negotiation, and business partnering skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Analytical & Organizational Skills: Excellent conceptual, analytical, problem-solving, planning, and prioritization capabilities, with a focus on continual improvement.
• Professionalism & Relationship Building: Demonstrates integrity, sound judgment, professionalism, strong relationship management, and the ability to drive effective implementation and cultural change.
