About Madinat Jumeirah

About the Job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commis 1 to join our New French Concept in Jumeirah Al Qasr.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

• Execute cooking techniques and plating to exact specifications provided by the Demi Chef | Chef De Partie, ensuring dishes are prepared to high standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as braising pans, ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers effectively, ensuring correct settings for cooking and baking temperatures.
• Follow food safety and hygiene practices, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items according to standard protocols.
• Set up stations with necessary par stocks of menu items, maintain cleanliness, and perform food preparation tasks assigned by the Demi Chef | Chef De Partie.
• Work collaboratively with the culinary team, attend daily meetings, and support colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations and service delivery.
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly to the Demi Chef | Chef De Partie, follow up on repairs, and ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• 1 - 2 years of experience in a range of kitchen areas, ideally within the luxury hospitality industry.
• College Degree in Culinary Arts or similar from an accredited Culinary School.
• Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
