Data Center Operations Site Human Resources Partner, Amazon Web Services Builder Experience Team
AI in this role
Provide on-site strategic HR partnership and support for Amazon Web Services data center operations teams.
This is a 100% on-site role where your adaptability, sound judgment, strategic thinking, and coaching skills will directly shape the employee experience. You will connect sentiment trends and HR data to operational goals, translate them into clear recommendations, and influence multiple levels of the organization without direct authority.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
- Build trust through consistent on-site presence and site walks, proactively monitoring employee sentiment trends and serving as the first point of escalation for employee concerns while promoting an environment of inclusion.
- Partner with Data Center leaders to develop proactive strategies focused on the employee experience, identify root causes using sentiment data and HR metrics, and provide site-level recommendations that drive leadership action.
- Apply HR expertise across talent management, performance management, compensation, and employee relations — resolving complex cases independently, conducting workplace investigations, and building procedural standards such as standard operating procedures.
- Consult, coach, and develop site leadership through decision-making grounded in empathy and sound judgment, identifying development opportunities through data analysis and on-site observation.
- Collaborate with Human Resources Business Partners and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to implement HR strategies across your cluster of Data Centers, partnering on orientation, onboarding, and cross-functional people initiatives.
A day in the life
You will start your day with a site walk, engaging directly with employees to understand their experience and pick up on emerging themes. From there, you might review sentiment data to prepare recommendations for a leadership meeting, coach a site manager through a performance conversation, or partner with a COE on rolling out a new engagement initiative. You will also handle employee concerns as they arise, conduct investigations when needed, and own site-specific people projects that drive meaningful impact. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports; you lead through influence, mentorship, and cross-functional partnership.
