P&G is a leading company in the manufacture of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), making some of the world’s best loved brands like Gillette, Fairy and Oral B. Here in Manchester, we've been making P&G products at our Trafford Park site for the past 90 years and after some exciting new investments are looking to recruit motivated technicians to join our Pampers manufacturing team.

We are looking for skilled individuals with a proven track record of people and technical leadership in a fast-moving manufacturing environment to join us as Deputy Team Leaders.

In this role, you will develop the technical capability required to operate the production line, lead the team in the Team Leader’s absence, and ensure that manufacturing systems and standards are followed to deliver safe, high-quality and efficient results.

You will also diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and process issues, support maintenance and breakdown repairs, coach colleagues, and work with support departments to improve performance.

Your initial placement will be an extended onboarding period working days as part of a production line’s day support team. During this structured development phase, you will build an in-depth understanding of our technology, manufacturing systems and leadership routines by supporting issue resolution, maintenance planning and execution, and our “run to target” approach.

Once you have demonstrated the required technical, systems and leadership capability, you will transition to an operating team on shift and take on the full responsibilities of the Deputy Team Leader role. The plant operates 24 hours a day, and the role follows a 12.5-hour shift pattern that includes both days and nights.

What We Offer You:

• Competitive Salary: You will join on our:
  
  - Level 3.1 pay of £49,161.84 per year (incl shift pay)
  
  Once qualified, you will move to:
  
  - Level 3.2 pay of £52,414.44 per year (incl shift pay)

• Generous Pension: The Company will contribute double the amount you contribute towards your pension savings, up to a maximum company contribution of 14% of your pensionable pay. 
• Annual Leave: You will start with 25 days annual leave entitlement (plus bank holidays), increasing with length of service up to 30 days. 
• 1-4-1 Shares: For every share that you purchase, the Company will purchase a share on your behalf. You can contribute up to 2.5% of your salary into the 1-4-1 Share Plan, up to a maximum of £150 a month.
• Private Medical Insurance: Our Private Medical Insurance Plan, currently delivered by AXA Health, provides eligible employees with access to private medical treatment, if they wish. Eligible employees can request for their partner and / or eligible dependent children to be included on their cover. 
• Dynamic and respectful work environment: This role is based in our Manchester Plant in Trafford Park. There are bus and tram links near to the site as well as free onsite parking. P&G employees also benefit from a subsidised restaurant, free gym facility, Occupational Health support, and newly installed relaxation garden
• Continuous coaching: You will work with passionate people and receive both formal training as well as day-to-day mentoring from your manager. 
  

Job Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written English language skills
