[What you will be working on]
Digital transformation within the public sector is at the heart of what GovTech (Government Technology Agency of Singapore) does. We harness the best info-communications technologies to make a difference to the everyday lives of people in Singapore.
GovTech (forward deployed to Enterprise Singapore) is seeking a Designer to work on technically challenging problems in an environment running like a modern product company, solving important, underserved problems in the public sector. Some of the problems are related to different products which includes agency-specific systems such as corporate HR and finance systems, and AI-enabled platforms to support agency users’ digital products creation. As an experienced Designer, you are expected to design and deliver intuitive, high-quality digital products that simplify complex systems and workflows. The role will work across the end-to-end product lifecycle (discovery through delivery) – from problem framing and user research to design, delivery, and impact – collaborating closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate combines strong product and design thinking with an understanding of technology, including AI, APIs and system integrations. They will help shape the design direction, raise overall product quality, translate insights into actionable solutions, and use clear communication and storytelling to align stakeholders around a compelling design vision.

Questions you could be asked
- How do you think about the risk of an AI system in this kind of role failing silently?
- Describe a typical day in a role like this one: which parts run through AI directly?
- If you removed AI from this role, what would be left, and how do you decide what still needs a human?
Adapt your resume
- List these exact terms on your resume: AI Safety. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
- Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
- Show where AI is part of your daily process, not a one-off project. This role expects it to be a running habit.
