Role Overview
The Digital Performance Lead owns HP’s digital performance with a portfolio of North America retail partners. Based in the Retail Media, Intelligence & Discovery team within North America Consumer & Retail Marketing, the role is accountable for HP’s online retailer sales and marketing performance across PCs, Gaming and Print, connecting site traffic and conversion to business outcomes.
The successful candidate is an end-to-end ecommerce expert with experience well beyond paid media, able to diagnose the shopper journey from search through product page to checkout and tie the levers that move traffic and conversion to sell-through. The role requires operational discipline and trusted relationships with HP’s retail marketing, category and sales teams and each retailer’s digital organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Own digital performance for a portfolio of retail partners across PCs, Gaming and Print, developing deep knowledge of each partner’s digital strategy, platforms and site mechanics to grow HP sales.
- Own the shopper journey on each partner’s site end to end:
- Traffic: win onsite search, strengthen offsite and organic visibility, and maximize the efficiency of retail media and other traffic-driving programs.
- Conversion: elevate product page quality (content, imagery, video, ratings and reviews), brand and category pages, and conversion rate optimization.
- Analyze traffic, conversion and sales data from Stackline, SimilarWeb, retailer portals and retail media platforms to diagnose performance and size opportunities.
- Build and maintain account scorecards that give retail marketing, category and sales one shared view of the digital shelf, including partner adoption of best practices.
- Lead recurring business reviews with internal partners and retailer counterparts, delivering actionable recommendations across ecommerce, AEO, SEO, paid search, content and customer experience.
- Partner with Retail Growth Leads, category, sales, retail media and insights teams to translate digital performance into account plans, launches and tentpole moments.
- Test, learn and implement best-in-class digital experiences, share what works across HP, and stay current on digital commerce trends and HP’s consumer portfolio.
- Build trust with key internal and external stakeholders, including regular in-person engagement with retail partners (travel up to 25 to 30 percent).
Success Measures
- Online revenue, unit and share performance across assigned retail partners.
- Growth in qualified traffic: onsite search share, digital merchandising visibility and retail media efficiency.
- Conversion improvement: digital shelf content scores, ratings and reviews, and conversion rate versus category benchmarks.
- Scorecard adoption, business review consistency, and the rate at which recommendations are executed.
- Feedback and trust placed in the role by internal and retailer teams.
Qualifications
- Significant ecommerce, digital marketing or online retail experience, with demonstrated ownership of results on major retailer sites.
- End-to-end ecommerce expertise across traffic, onsite and offsite search, product page and conversion optimization, and retail media; depth beyond paid media alone is essential.
- Strong business foundation, connecting traffic and conversion detail to revenue, share and margin.
- Analytical skills, preferably with Excel, Stackline, SimilarWeb, retailer portals and retail media platforms; proven ability to build scorecards and run effective business reviews.
- Digital expert who leads cross-functional work and delivers measurable results through teams they do not manage.
- Self-starter, collaborative, results-driven and a persuasive communicator with senior management and external partners.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Leadership Profile
This role requires a detail-oriented operator equally comfortable in the data and presenting to large groups: someone with the curiosity of an analyst, the instincts of an ecommerce merchant and the judgment of a business owner, who leads through credibility rather than authority and holds all parties to a disciplined rhythm of review, action and follow-through.
