Job Description Summary:
The Director, Supply Chain SAP Strategy & Enablement is a North America Operating Unit (NAOU) Supply Chain leadership role at the intersection of business and IT. The Director will combine deep supply chain knowledge with technical curiosity to learn, translate, and apply AI capabilities within the SAP digital core. The role will identify and prioritize high-value opportunities, develop business cases, and guide solutions from discovery and experimentation through deployment, adoption, and measurable outcome realization. The primary focus is leveraging native SAP capabilities—including SAP Joule and SAP Business AI—and connecting them with the data, products, and experiences delivered by NAOU Digital Enablement Product teams.
Serving as the business-to-technology connector for NAOU Supply Chain, this role will support and influence the Global Digital Network SAP Platform teams as they shape the AI roadmap and develop use cases for SAP Joule and SAP Business AI. The Director will translate operational needs into clear solution requirements, help business teams understand what SAP AI can enable, and keep those capabilities closely connected to NAOU Digital Enablement Product Teams, their roadmaps, and the data and digital products they deliver.
Core Responsibilities
- Build practical knowledge of SAP Joule, SAP Business AI, and related digital-core capabilities, and translate that knowledge into relevant supply chain applications.
- Engage business teams to identify, assess, and prioritize AI opportunities; develop business cases with clear value, feasibility, dependencies, risks, and accountable outcomes.
- Represent NAOU Supply Chain with Global Digital Network SAP Platform teams as they shape the SAP Data & AI roadmap and develop use cases for SAP Joule and SAP Business AI.
- Translate business processes and user needs into solution requirements, and work with SAP Platform, functional, and product teams to help configure, test, deploy, and improve native SAP AI solutions.
- Ensure SAP-native AI connects with the data, products, integrations, and user experiences delivered by NAOU Digital Enablement Product Teams.
- Route AI opportunities outside the SAP digital core to the appropriate product team, provide the business context and requirements, and support incorporation into the applicable product roadmap.
- Define outcome measures and governance to track adoption, realized value, solution performance, and portfolio progress, adjusting priorities when expected results are not achieved.
- Promote responsible use of AI and partner with Digital Enablement Change resources to build user understanding, adoption, and capability.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Analytics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5 or more years of relevant experience applying AI capabilities
- Progressive leadership experience in supply chain, SAP-enabled transformation, digital products, process improvement, data, analytics, or AI-enabled roles.
- Strong end-to-end supply chain knowledge with the ability to learn technical concepts, ask effective questions, and translate between business teams and IT partners.
- Experience defining business and product requirements, supporting solution design and testing, developing investment cases, and achieving measurable outcomes in a matrixed organization.
- Familiarity with enterprise AI, data, integration, security, and responsible-use concepts; experience with SAP S/4HANA, EWM, TM, Ariba, SAP Joule, or SAP Business AI is preferred.
- Technical curiosity, learning agility, strategic thinking, communication, decision making, and cross-functional leadership skills; software development expertise is not required.
Success Profile
Success will be measured by the value and strategic alignment of the AI portfolio; integration of native SAP AI with NAOU data and digital products; speed from opportunity identification to scaled capability; accountable business adoption; realized productivity, service, financial, and decision-quality outcomes; reuse of approved capabilities; and compliance with responsible AI, data, security, and governance standards.
