AI in this role

Meet the team

As a global technology leader, Cisco has been transforming how people connect, communicate, and collaborate for decades. Our innovation in networking, security, and cloud-based solutions enables organizations to drive digital transformation and achieve their business goals. The Collaboration Employee Experience organization creates workspace solutions that connect people, places, and experiences.

Located just outside of Oslo, our Devices innovation center is home to 300+ passionate engineers working across hardware, software, mechanics, audio, media processing, and artificial intelligence—from concept to product. We strive to create best-in-class video conferencing experiences by bringing together diverse engineering disciplines under one roof.

The Audio & Camera Intelligence group is looking for an engineer to join our camera team. This role offers a great opportunity to combine software development with camera technology and broaden your expertise across algorithms and image processing!

Within the Devices organization, our team develops camera software for autofocus, exposure, white balance, image-quality tuning, geometric correction, and other digital image-processing functions. We create camera capabilities for new products and deliver new features and improvements for existing products. Throughout the product development lifecycle, we collaborate closely with hardware, platform, and product teams.

Your Impact

We are looking for a skilled software engineer who enjoys solving practical problems at the intersection of software and hardware. Whether your experience is in signal processing, embedded software, or another relevant area, the role may span close-to-hardware software development and algorithmic challenges in camera imaging. You will bring a strong sense of ownership, a collaborative approach, and an eagerness to continue learning. Depending on project needs and your background and interests, your responsibilities may include:

  • Developing software and algorithms for new camera products, supporting software bring-up and implementing capabilities such as autofocus, auto-exposure, color handling, image warping, digital pan-tilt-zoom, and image-pipeline tuning.
  • Ensuring high image quality through algorithm development, laboratory measurements, and analysis.
  • Supporting camera certification for third-party meeting platforms.
  • Collaborating with optics and image-sensor suppliers to optimize camera performance in final products.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Cybernetics and Robotics, Control Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a closely related technical field. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields combined with substantial relevant experience.
  • At least three years of professional software development experience.
  • Familiarity with at least one relevant area, such as camera technology, color theory, control systems, signal processing, or video processing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with embedded software development, particularly image or video processing.
  • Experience with camera algorithms, tuning, or image-quality evaluation.
  • Experience with GPU programming or GPU-accelerated image and video processing.
  • Interest in working across multiple areas of camera software and developing broader expertise over time.
