ESG Manager/Senior Manager for Financial Institutions (Consulting & Audit)

Job Description & Summary

What you will be doing ? 

As a Manager/Senior Manager you will be working on 

• Lead and deliver ESG-related engagements for Financial Services clients across sustainability reporting, ESG strategy, governance, sustainable finance, climate and ESG risk management 

• Lead ESG assurance engagements, including planning, execution and completion activities in accordance with PwC methodology and professional standards 

• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for sustainability, risk, finance and executive stakeholders 

• Manage engagement teams, project plans, budgets and resources to ensure high-quality delivery 

• Coach, develop and provide ongoing feedback to team members while promoting a collaborative team environment 

• Support clients in interpreting and responding to evolving European and local ESG regulatory requirements 

• Contribute to business development initiatives, proposals and market-facing activities 

• Collaborate with PwC teams across the global network on cross-border ESG and sustainability projects 

What we are looking for: 

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Risk Management or a related field 

• More than 5 years of relevant working experience in the financial sector, in the area of audit (Big 4 is considered a plus), sustainability, consulting, strategy, risk management, compliance 

• Strong understanding of ESG, sustainability and climate-related topics, with knowledge of the banking regulatory environment considered an advantage 

• Experience managing projects and leading teams in a client-facing environment 

• Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills 

• Strong research, report writing and presentation capabilities 

• Excellent communication skills in both Romanian and English 

• Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues across diverse teams 

• Proactive mindset, intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous learning
