Job Title: Food Delivery App User Tester

Job Type: Contractor

Location: United States, Remote

Job Summary: In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leverage your active food delivery app account and order history to provide realistic user data and scenarios.
  2. Generate authentic search intents and document user journeys on grocery and food delivery platforms.
  3. Evaluate, annotate, and provide feedback on the relevance of search results and app recommendations.
  4. Generate queries and conduct reasoning exercises to test and enhance model understanding of user behaviors.
  5. Identify usability issues, suggest improvements, and flag inconsistencies across different platforms.
  6. Stay up-to-date with the latest app features and trends in food delivery and restaurant discovery.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Active user of food delivery apps with documented order history (not a restaurant owner or driver).
  2. Strong familiarity with restaurant discovery and food delivery ecosystems.
  3. Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills — clarity and detail matter.
  4. Proficient in using smartphones or desktops with food delivery apps installed.
  5. Keen attention to detail and ability to provide high-quality, constructive feedback.
  6. Comfortable working independently and managing remote tasks efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in beta testing or user research for mobile apps or digital platforms.
  2. Background or interest in UX, AI, or digital product feedback.
  3. Exposure to a variety of food delivery platforms and markets.
  4. Proficient in structured reasoning and capable of formulating and answering complex queries about app interactions.

Questions you could be asked

  1. Tell me about a project where user testing was part of your work. What did you do?
  2. Tell me about a project where annotation was part of your work. What did you do?
  3. Tell me about a project where data evaluation was part of your work. What did you do?
  4. Describe a typical day in a role like this one: which parts run through AI directly?
  5. If you removed AI from this role, what would be left, and how do you decide what still needs a human?

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: User Testing, Annotation, and Data Evaluation. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
  • Show where AI is part of your daily process, not a one-off project. This role expects it to be a running habit.
