Details of the Division and Team:    

Japan Credit Trading conducts market making and client transactions in domestic and foreign credit products including bonds (corporate, government and others), loans, other monetary claims, convertible bonds, equity, credit derivatives including credit default swaps, asset backed securities, other derivatives and swaps. Also performs risk and inventory management of the proprietary transactions by using domestic and foreign credit products.

A new team member will be requested with skills to analyze, execute and monitor credit products with a value-driven and a sustainable performance.

Your key responsibilities:

• Manage Yen-denominated credit bond trading, market-making and risk management for domestic and international investors.
• Grow Deutsche Bank's Yen credit trading franchise through client engagement and business development.
• Manage credit, interest rate and FX risks in a disciplined and strategic manner.
• Generate trading ideas through fundamental, technical and relative value analysis.
• Partner with Sales to identify client demand and deliver investment and execution solutions.
• Build relationships with clients, issuers and internal stakeholders to maximize business opportunities.
• Monitor market, regulatory and macro developments and incorporate them into trading and risk strategies.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to a high-performance trading culture.
• Take ownership of desk strategy, profitability and balance sheet optimization.

Your skills and experience:

• Proven experience managing credit risk and trading positions across credit markets.
• Strong understanding of credit products, financial analysis and risk management.
• Sound knowledge of regulatory, compliance and legal considerations relevant to trading activities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across Sales, Research, Syndicate, Risk and Operations.
• Fluent in Japanese and English; native-level Japanese is required for client engagement.
• Strong commercial mindset, resilience and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent judgment with the ability to identify risks, opportunities and mitigating factors.
• Extensive experience trading Yen-denominated credit bonds; experience in non-Yen credit and CDS markets is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of the Japanese institutional investor landscape and market structure.
• Ability to connect domestic and international investor flows, identify cross-border opportunities and drive franchise revenue growth.
