AI in this role
State Street is a leading global financial services provider supporting asset owners, asset managers, and official institutions with investment servicing, data and analytics, trading, financing, and technology solutions.
Global Alternatives is a core growth business within State Street, serving clients across hedge funds, private equity, private credit, real assets, and other alternative investment strategies. The division helps clients scale increasingly complex investment platforms by combining specialist fund administration and operations with State Street's broader capabilities across data, technology, markets, custody, treasury, and front-to-back solutions.
Global Hedge represents a significant part of the Global Alternatives franchise and is central to the division's growth strategy.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially minded Vice President of Global Hedge Product Management to join our team.
This is an opportunity for an ambitious product leader to make a visible impact within a small, highly focused global team. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who combines deep hedge fund and asset-servicing knowledge with the drive to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, mobilize stakeholders, and convert strategy into measurable business outcomes.
This is not a narrowly defined product-governance role. The Vice President will help shape the future of State Street's Global Hedge offering across front-office technology, middle-office services, fund administration, data, treasury, custody, and related capabilities. The individual will work closely with clients, Sales, Relationship Management, Operations, Technology, State Street Alpha, and other product teams to strengthen our competitive position and accelerate sustainable growth.
The role is suited to someone who is energized by ownership, comfortable operating independently, and motivated by the opportunity to influence a globally significant business.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Product Strategy and Ownership
· Help define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for State Street's Global Hedge business, with a particular focus on the North American market.
· Maintain a clear view of the hedge fund ecosystem, including changes in investment strategies, operating models, technology, data, regulation, and client expectations.
· Identify product and platform gaps that affect competitiveness, client retention, scalability, and growth.
· Translate market developments and client needs into prioritized product requirements, investment cases, and executable delivery plans.
· Contribute to decisions concerning platform capabilities, service models, partnerships, and build-versus-buy opportunities.
· Manage initiatives across the product lifecycle, from market assessment and concept development through implementation, commercialization, adoption, and ongoing enhancement.
Commercial Growth and Go-to-Market Execution
· Partner with Sales, Relationship Management, and client-facing teams to support new-business opportunities, strategic renewals, and expansion of existing client relationships.
· Develop compelling value propositions and solution narratives for hedge fund managers, institutional investors, and other alternative investment clients.
· Bring a product and commercial perspective to complex client opportunities, helping teams move from individual requirements to scalable and repeatable solutions.
· Support proposal development, client presentations, due diligence, pricing discussions, and strategic pitches.
· Develop go-to-market plans, internal enablement materials, and campaigns that strengthen product adoption and market positioning.
· Represent Global Hedge at selected client events, industry forums, conferences, and internal leadership discussions.
Client-Led Product Development
· Engage directly with clients and prospects to understand their investment strategies, operating models, pain points, technology environments, and growth priorities.
· Translate complex client needs into clear product requirements, solution architectures, and business outcomes.
· Distinguish between bespoke requirements and opportunities that can become reusable platform capabilities.
· Serve as a trusted product partner during strategic client engagements, bringing an informed point of view while remaining focused on practical delivery.
· Use client feedback and market intelligence to shape product priorities and improve the overall client experience.
Cross-Enterprise Solutioning
· Connect Global Hedge capabilities with State Street's broader enterprise platform, including State Street Alpha, Charles River Development, Global Markets, custody, treasury, financing, data, and analytics.
· Work across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and client teams to ensure solutions are differentiated, commercially viable, scalable, and operationally deliverable.
· Act as a bridge between business strategy and execution, creating alignment among stakeholders with different priorities.
· Promote reusable solution frameworks and a One State Street approach to complex client opportunities.
Delivery and Business Impact
· Lead or contribute to high-priority product initiatives, ensuring clear ownership, disciplined execution, and timely escalation of risks and dependencies.
· Build business cases supported by market demand, client value, financial impact, implementation requirements, and expected return on investment.
· Define success measures for major initiatives, including revenue enablement, pipeline contribution, client adoption, retention, platform scalability, and operating efficiency.
· Provide clear, concise updates and recommendations to senior management.
· Move comfortably between strategic planning and detailed execution, rolling up your sleeves when required to drive progress.
What We Value
· Ownership: Take accountability for outcomes and move initiatives forward without waiting for perfect direction.
· Drive: Bring energy, resilience, and urgency to important business priorities.
· Commercial judgment: Understand how product decisions influence revenue, retention, market share, risk, and operating leverage.
· Client orientation: Listen carefully, challenge constructively, and translate complexity into measurable client value.
· Enterprise thinking: Connect capabilities across businesses and build support without relying on formal authority.
· Intellectual curiosity: Actively follow developments in hedge fund strategies, technology, data, servicing models, and competition.
· Execution discipline: Turn strategy into practical plans, maintain momentum, and follow through on commitments.
· Clarity: Communicate complex concepts directly and persuasively to clients, specialists, and senior executives.
· Constructive challenge: Question established approaches and introduce better ideas.
· Team orientation: Thrive in a small, high-impact global team where collaboration and individual contribution matter.
Qualifications and Experience
· Approximately 8 to 15 years of relevant experience in hedge fund servicing, asset servicing, investment operations, product management, product development, consulting, technology, or client solutioning.

· Experience translating business and client needs into structured requirements, roadmaps, business cases, and implementation plans.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and written communication skills.
· Ability to influence senior stakeholders and coordinate delivery across Product, Technology, Operations, and client-facing teams.
· Proven ability to manage several priorities in a fast-moving, global environment.
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required. An advanced degree or relevant professional qualification is advantageous.
What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months
· Establish credibility with Global Hedge leadership and key North American stakeholders.
· Build a strong understanding of the product portfolio, client base, pipeline, platform priorities, and competitive gaps.
· Take ownership of a focused set of commercially important product initiatives.
· Strengthen collaboration across Product, Sales, Relationship Management, Operations, Technology, and State Street Alpha.
· Contribute meaningfully to strategic client opportunities and pipeline conversion.
· Introduce greater structure and transparency to selected product roadmaps and investment priorities.
· Deliver visible progress against agreed growth, client, product, or scalability objectives.
This role offers the opportunity to influence a globally important business from one of the world's leading financial centers.
