HSE Operation Manager

We're seeking an experienced HSE Operations Manager to lead the operational delivery of Health, Safety and Environment across our Above Water System Segment, a complex, high-risk environment.

Reporting to the Head of HSE, you'll lead a small of HSE Business Partners, influence senior leaders, and drive the critical risk programs that keep our people safe and our operations performing at their best.

This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible leadership role where your influence will be felt across projects, operations and executive decision-making.

Located centrally in Woolloomooloo's Garden Island, on Gadigal land your role purpose will be -

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of HSE professionals.
• Partner with operational and project leaders to improve safety outcomes.
• Drive critical risk management and assurance activities across the site.
• Oversee incident investigations and ensure meaningful corrective actions.
• Lead workforce consultation, engagement and safety culture initiatives.
• Manage regulatory and customer HSE requirements, including Comcare engagement.
• Deliver insights on HSE performance, trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence.

On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:

• Significant senior HSE leadership experience in a complex, high-risk environment.
• Proven experience leading and developing HSE teams.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS and environmental legislation.
• Experience with critical risk management, investigations and assurance programs.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Committed to fostering engagement at all levels and driving sustainable safety excellence
• Qualifications in WHS, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Available to work site based 5 days a week

A NV 1 Defence security clearance is required for this role; applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
