About the Function
Our Marketing Procurement ambition is to be the Gateway to the Agency ecosystem, connecting the Marketing and Commercial teams with the best talent and expertise of the outside world and ensuring seamless integration into the Diageo ways of working.
The APAC Marketing Procurement COE is fundamental to deploy our marketing procurement strategy and to deliver APAC marketing productivity agenda, driving growth by eliminating inefficient spend and waste from the system, using insights and commercial expertise to deliver value, managing risk and agency performance and championing Diageo’s 2030 goals.
About this role
This role sits in APAC region which is part of the EMEA&APAC Procurement team and is essential to execute Global A&P strategies with the balance of the APAC market requirements.
This role acts as a key link between Procurement and business stakeholders in SEA, ensuring strong alignment between global/regional strategy and local execution. It is responsible for translating global and regional strategies into clear, actionable market implementation plans. In parallel, it partners closely with local marketing and commercial leadership teams, building strong professional relationships to understand business priorities and ensure the procurement agenda is effectively aligned with and supportive of local needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver best-in-class procurement category excellence, including strategic sourcing, contract management, risk management, supplier performance management (SPM) and delivery of financial metrics on productivity and cash.
- Deliver marketing category strategy and embed future procurement operation model.
- Develop market implementation plan for Global and regional category strategies and execute the plan.
- Build strong business partnerships by deeply understanding stakeholder needs, effectively communicating them to the wider procurement team, and translating them into actionable procurement strategies.
- Ensure full compliance with Procurement CARM controls and governance standards.
- Proactively identify gaps and inefficiencies, turning them into continuous improvement opportunities with a positive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Collaborate as a strong team player, embracing a “One Procurement, One Diageo” mindset to achieve shared goals and contribute to both financial and non-financial KPIs.
Qualifications & Experience required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management (preferably within marketing)
- Strong understanding of sourcing processes, contract management, and supplier performance management
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and business partnering
- Solid commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, value, and quality
- Experience working in a regional or global, matrixed organization is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data and insights
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across multiple levels of the organization
- Knowledge of procurement governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks
- High level of adaptability, resilience, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
