Te Tākinatanga | Our Story

At Contact, we believe home is the most important place in the world. That belief shapes everything we do, from leading New Zealand’s Energy Upgrade to how we power Aotearoa and care for our people and communities.

We’re a power, broadband, and mobile company, but we’re also investing boldly in renewable energy and smarter, more connected ways of working (mahi). Our ambition is simple: to leave Aotearoa better than we found it.

Guided by our values & behaviours, we’re a team who care deeply about the work we do, how we support one another, and the impact we have. Simply put, we’re on a mission to improve the quality of home life.

Our Brand and Marketing team helps shape how people experience Contact, from the campaigns and communications our customers see to the way our brand shows up across our communities, customers and organisation.

We're looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join our team and provide dedicated support across a wide range of marketing activity. You'll help keep campaigns, communications, brand initiatives, events, sponsorships and community engagement organised, aligned and moving forward.

This is an opportunity to keep building your marketing career from the inside out. You'll work alongside experienced marketers and agency partners, getting close to the thinking, coordination and delivery that sits behind great marketing. At Contact, you'll have the chance to work across a diverse mix of campaigns, brand activity, events, sponsorships and communications while contributing to work that reaches customers across Aotearoa

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

You'll join a collaborative marketing team and support a varied programme of activity across digital, social, email, retail, internal and other channels. You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple areas of marketing, building experience across campaigns, brand, communications, sponsorships, community engagement and events.

Working closely with marketing leads, agency partners, suppliers and teams across Contact, you'll play an important role in helping great marketing happen.

In this role, you'll:

  • Support the delivery of campaigns, customer communications, events, sponsorships and brand activity across a range of channels.
  • Become a key point of coordination, helping keep projects moving, stakeholders connected and delivery on track.
  • Help bring marketing ideas to life by supporting the rollout of campaign content, assets and communications.
  • Play an important role in caring for and championing the Contact brand across internal and external touchpoints.
  • Work alongside marketing leads, internal teams, agency partners and suppliers to support the delivery of high-quality marketing activity.
  • Own the organisation and administration that sits behind great marketing, from project documentation and approvals through to budgets, invoices and team resources.

Ko wai koe | About You

You've built some early marketing experience and are ready for your next step. You're organised, proactive and enjoy bringing structure to moving pieces. You take pride in the quality of your work, communicate confidently with others and aren't afraid to pick up the phone when something needs to get done.

You'll be interested in the full marketing picture and willing to contribute wherever the work is. That could mean supporting the rollout of a high-profile campaign one day and helping review brand materials, coordinate merchandise, update documentation or support event activity the next.

You'll bring:

  • One to three years' experience in marketing, communications, advertising, events or a related field.
  • A knack for keeping multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders moving in the right direction.
  • Confidence communicating with a wide range of people, both written and verbally.
  • Strong attention to detail and an eye for quality, particularly when it comes to brand consistency and communications.
  • The flexibility to move between campaign support, event coordination, brand administration and the day-to-day tasks that help great marketing happen.
  • Working experience with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • A relevant qualification in marketing, communications, business or a similar field is beneficial.

What matters most is that you're curious, willing to learn and excited by the chance to play a part in all the different elements that bring great marketing to life. You'll be just as comfortable supporting the delivery of a major campaign as you are coordinating the work that helps bring it to life, because you understand both are important to great marketing.

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: Marketing, Campaign Management, Event Planning, and Stakeholder Coordination. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
