Job Title: University Recruiter
Department: Global University Recruiting & Programs
About the Role
The University Recruiter brings early-career talent to HP's businesses. You'll work closely with business unit (BU) leaders, University Program Managers, and regional recruiting partners to plan and carry out university hiring strategies. Your work covers the full early-career cycle, from campus outreach and sourcing through offers and intern-to-full-time conversion. You'll also lead projects for the Global University PMO that use AI and automation to improve and scale how HP recruits university talent around the world.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Partnership
- Build local hiring strategies with business unit leaders and University Program Managers.
- Work with the University Program Lead, operations, and other stakeholders to deliver onboarding and local and virtual intern and graduate programs, and to improve processes.
- Help other regions with hiring, sourcing, or offer creation when you have capacity.
Sourcing & Campus Engagement
- Own sourcing to meet hiring goals, using talent pipeline tools and regional university sourcing staff.
- Post open roles at core schools.
- Plan and attend core-school campus events, virtual and in person, with University Program Managers.
- Build relationships with career services offices, student organizations, talent-focused groups and clubs, and faculty.
- Attend HP hiring events and pre-screen qualified candidates for interviews when needed.
- Build HP's employer brand on campus, and work with Employer Brand and Social Media teams to promote events.
Full-Cycle Recruiting
- Source, screen, and present qualified candidates to hiring teams, and put forward top talent.
- Own full-cycle recruiting, including the candidate and hiring manager experience, hiring team education, offer discussions, and offer creation.
- Start and own conversion offers for interns before their internships end. Track and report on business-specific conversion opportunities with BU Program Managers.
Project Development & Process Improvement
- Bring projects: Find chances to automate, simplify, and scale university recruiting processes across regions. Use recruiting data and stakeholder feedback to find gaps. Propose projects to the Global University PMO with a clear business case, scope, and expected impact.
- Own projects: Set scope, goals, timelines, and success measures. Get stakeholders aligned, including the University Recruiting Director, Program Leads, recruiters, operations, and technology partners. Manage progress, risks, and dependencies from kickoff to completion, and give regular status updates to the PMO.
- Deliver on projects: Deliver projects on time and to the agreed scope. Roll out automation, tools, and workflow improvements that make global processes work better. Turn successful local practices into scalable standards, playbooks, and templates for all regions.
- Lead change management through use of AI and documentation, training, and communication with recruiting teams. Report results, adoption, and impact to the Global University PMO and leadership.
Data, Reporting & Compliance
- Keep data accurate in the applicant tracking system, and update candidate steps and status promptly, in real time when possible.
- Report regularly on progress toward goals, such as hires to goal, conversions, event outcomes, and source of hire. Help Program Managers share these results with the business.
- Follow all local laws, HP standard operating procedures, and HP policies when sourcing and using recruiting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in full-cycle recruiting, ideally in university or early-career hiring
- Experience planning and running campus recruiting events and building relationships with universities
- Experience leading or contributing to process-improvement, automation, or cross-functional projects
- Strong project management skills, including scoping, managing timelines, and reporting to stakeholders
- Comfort using an applicant tracking system, sourcing tools, and recruiting data, and a commitment to accurate data
- Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, global, matrixed organization
