Job Summary

To plan, organize all general merchandise items to ensure that the highest quality product is purchased at the best possible price and that orders are placed properly and received in a timely manner.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicate with Outlet Managers relative to purchases consistent with hotel needs and specifications

• Negotiating pricing and purchase goods and ensure delivery in a timely manner.

• Prepare purchase orders

• Review shipments to ensure products received are in consistent order

• Responsible for monitoring grades and quality of products to ensure that they meet the hotel’s standards.

• Completion of administrative function as detailed by Manager, Procurement.

• To analyze, distribute and file the daily flow of information to and from the office

• Setting and maintaining the Purchasing Office filing system

• Order monthly market list and inform any discrepancy in the listed price to the Purchasing Manager

• Process the Local Purchase Order and keep record of the same with price quotation

• To liaise closely with the Receiving Dept. and follow up with suppliers for pending deliveries

• Make price comparison sheets of the market survey conducting by the Assistant Manager, Cost Control.

• Comply with the hotel’s policy and procedures

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

• Must have some knowledge of food, beverage and printing products

• Basic mathematical and computer skills to track and receive volumes of deliveries

• Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently in order to complete forms, inventories, read , billings, invoices and communicate with co-workers and purveyors

• Office machines: operate calculator/10-key, copier, fax, telephone
