This role involves performing CFD simulations and numerical analysis of solid-propellant rocket motors, nozzles, blastpipes, and thrust vector control systems to predict flow, combustion, heat transfer, and performance. It also includes developing analysis codes, optimizing designs, validating CFD results against experimental data, and preparing technical and test reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform CFD simulations of solid propellant rocket motors, grains, blastpipes, nozzles and thrust vector control systems.
- Predict flow distribution, combustion efficiency, heat transfer, flow ballistics and forces.
- Develop codes for post-test analysis, thrust vector systems, and nozzle designs.
- Provide design optimization input based on CFD results.
- Validate numerical results against experimental test data.
- Write reports, mathematical models, and test reports.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 12 years in Solid Rocket Propulsion engineering performing CFD analyses and making predictions models.
• Master’s or PhD. in Propulsion or other related fields, Aerospace / Mechanical Engineering with focus on fluid dynamics.
