About the Role
We are actively seeking a highly enthusiastic and deeply empathetic Product Accessibility Engineer to become an integral part of our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to our core mission: ensuring all our applications are universally accessible to every individual, irrespective of their abilities or challenges.

As a Product Accessibility Engineer, you will be immersed in the complete product development lifecycle, from the initial conceptual design phases through to meticulous testing and final deployment. This hands-on experience will provide invaluable insights and practical skills within the rapidly expanding and critically important field of digital accessibility. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to identify potential accessibility barriers, propose innovative solutions, and implement best practices that adhere to global accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).

Exceptional opportunity for students who possess a keen interest and foundational knowledge in front-end development, human factors engineering, or interaction design. You will have the chance to apply your academic learning and emerging professional skills in a truly meaningful way, directly impacting the lives of diverse users and contributing to a more inclusive digital landscape. Beyond technical skills, we are looking for individuals who demonstrate a strong sense of empathy, a proactive problem-solving approach, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive user experience.

What You'll Do

  • Design Phase: Collaborate with our design teams to review mockups and prototypes, ensuring they meet accessibility standards. You’ll check for proper color contrast, clear descriptions, and logical heading structures.
  • Development Phase: Work with our development teams to ensure code is written with accessibility in mind, focusing on proper use of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Testing Phase: Assist in testing applications for accessibility. You'll use a combination of automated tools, manual checks, and testing with assistive technologies like screen readers to identify and report issues.
  • AI Development (Bonus): If you have experience in AI, you may have the opportunity to contribute to projects involving AI-powered accessibility features.

Skills We're Looking For

  • Front-End Development: A solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Empathy: A genuine desire to understand and advocate for the needs of users with disabilities.
  • Design Skills: An eye for good design and an understanding of user experience principles.
  • Bonus Skills: Experience or interest in AI development is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Front-End Development, Human Factors Engineering, or Interaction Design.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A passion for creating inclusive and accessible technology.

Modern Tooling Acumen: Direct experience using and critically reviewing code and artifacts generated by large language model (LLM) coding assistants and agentic tools. Must be able to effectively guide AI tools to achieve desired outcomes.

Graduates need direct experience using and critically reviewing code and artifacts generated by large language model (LLM) coding assistants and agentic tools. This is a newer requirement; candidates who have actively experimented with and used tools like Gemini, Cursor, or other agent-based frameworks will be stronger candidates.

Questions you could be asked

  1. How do you decide when an AI agent can act on its own versus asking for approval first?
  2. Walk me through how you've used Gemini in your day-to-day work.
  3. What are the limits of Cursor that you've run into, and how did you work around them?

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: AI agents, Gemini, and Cursor. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
