Overview:
G42 is building the compute, cloud, and data foundations for advanced AI to work at scale across government, healthcare, energy, finance and more.
Within G42, Inception42 turns that infrastructure into products people use. Our mission is to make advanced AI reliable, sovereign, and useful for some of the world's most important institutions and companies. Alpha, InSight and Vantage deliver domain-specific intelligence; Catalyst, our agentic platform, serves organisations that build and run agents while keeping sensitive data within the UAE.
The opportunityWe are looking for a hands-on Principal Product Manager with deep FinTech expertise to lead Alpha, Inception42's investment and credit AI product. You will own strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for institutional investors, lenders, and financial analysts.
Translate emerging AI capabilities into investment research, due diligence, underwriting support, and portfolio monitoring workflows. Turn fragmented information into reviewable analysis, with clear evidence and user control. Success means accurate work, sustained adoption, and measurable customer value.
You will lead cross-functional teams spanning Design, Engineering, Science, domain experts, and Growth. You will make difficult trade-offs, stay close to customers and product details, and mentor product managers.
Responsibilities:
Product strategy and customer discovery
- Define Alpha's vision, target segments, differentiation, and roadmap, connecting customer needs with emerging AI capabilities.
- Assess competitors, incumbent research tools, and in-house solutions to identify where Alpha can win.
- Work directly with analysts, portfolio managers, and credit teams to understand workflows, buying criteria, and adoption barriers.
- Use research, AI-assisted prototypes, and pilots to test hypotheses and demand, turning recurring needs into reusable workflows.
- Prioritise by customer impact, commercial potential, feasibility, and risk; make explicit build, defer, or stop decisions and coordinate shared capabilities with Catalyst.
Investment and credit workflows
- Own requirements for opportunity screening, company and sector research, due diligence, valuation support, and investment committee materials.
- Develop credit workflows: financial statement, cash-flow, and debt-service analysis, downside scenarios, credit memos, covenant review, and portfolio monitoring.
- Define expected AI behaviour and acceptance criteria, supporting analyst review, versioning, and approval, with outputs in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Prioritise integrations with filings, transcripts, market and credit data, and deal rooms, and partner on data licensing and build-versus-partner decisions.
AI product development and quality
- Translate user needs into AI requirements with Science and Engineering, including models, RAG, context, memory, tool use, and agent orchestration.
- Ensure reliable extraction and reconciliation across documents and tables, handling entities, periods, currencies, units, metric definitions, and conflicting sources.
- Make outputs traceable to source evidence, distinguishing reported facts, calculations, assumptions, and AI interpretations.
- Own evaluation rubrics, test sets, and analyst review for numerical accuracy, citations, completeness, and financial reasoning. Set release thresholds and monitor regressions.
- Define how agents handle fabricated outputs, incomplete evidence, and tool failures, with intervention, recovery, and approval paths that keep users in control.
- Build in AI disclosure, permissions, audit trails, and data residency, partnering with Security, Legal, and Risk on confidentiality and information barriers.
- Define approved uses and validation evidence with customers' governance teams, and evaluate English and Arabic financial content for quality and localisation.
Delivery and commercial outcomes
- Lead discovery through launch and iteration, balancing new capabilities with quality, reliability, latency, and cost.
- Own Alpha's business case and performance, partnering on pricing, packaging, positioning, and sales enablement, accounting for data, inference, and review costs.
- Convert pilots into sustained production use with customer success teams through repeatable onboarding, templates, and training.
- Measure task success, time to validated analysis, and material errors alongside adoption, pilot conversion, retention, and unit economics to guide priorities.
Leadership and influence
- Align technical, financial, and commercial stakeholders on priorities and trade-offs.
- Communicate credibly with investment and credit leaders, enterprise buyers, and Inception42 leadership.
- Mentor product managers, contribute to hiring, and stay hands-on with experiments, customer feedback, and production performance.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years in product management or closely related roles, with substantial ownership of complex products at senior or principal level and a record of launching and scaling financial technology.
- Knowledge of institutional investment or credit workflows, with working fluency across both.
- Experience building products for analysts, investment teams, lenders, or risk professionals.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation, leverage, and credit risk.
- Ability to interrogate financial models and challenge analytical assumptions.
- Experience delivering enterprise software with measurable adoption and commercial impact, including direct customer discovery and engagement with senior financial stakeholders.
- Experience taking AI-powered products, such as agents, copilots, or intelligent workflows, from concept to production and measurable adoption.
- Practical fluency in large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, context, memory, tool use, and evaluations. Ability to reason with technical teams about quality, latency, reliability, and cost.
- Hands-on use of AI tools to prototype workflows, test model behaviour, and accelerate research, analysis, or delivery.
- Strong analytical and commercial skills, including hands-on use of Excel, SQL, or comparable tools to investigate data, test hypotheses, and measure outcomes.
- Clear written and verbal communication, leadership across functions, and sound judgement in ambiguous environments where accuracy and customer trust are critical.
- A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, computer science, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior investment banking, asset management, private equity, private credit, corporate lending, or credit research experience alongside product leadership.
- Experience with financial data providers, document intelligence, financial modelling tools, or enterprise integrations and data-access controls.
- Experience with financial institutions, sovereign deployment, and regulated enterprise procurement. Arabic language ability and bilingual product experience are advantages.
- CFA, FRM, or another relevant finance qualification; or similar practical depth in investment or credit analysis.
- Sound product judgement and financial rigour: test assumptions against customer evidence, check the numbers, and change direction when warranted.
- Hands-on ownership and collaborative leadership: experiment to resolve uncertainty, welcome challenge, and stay accountable for outcomes beyond launch.
