AI in this role
Why AssemblyAI
AssemblyAI builds the best-in-class Voice AI models powering the next generation of voice applications. We have a lab, and we also power our own models in our own proprietary inference environment. Our models serve 500M+ inference calls monthly, and process nearly 2 million hours of audio daily. The Voice AI space is at an inflection point; we’re looking for the best talent we can find to join a rapidly scaling team that's defining the future of the industry.
We are one of the most capital-efficient AI companies on the planet - and are rapidly approaching $1M ARR per employee. We sit among the top 5 most revenue-dense teams within the fastest-growing AI companies today. We have thousands of customers building with us including the top startups and world-renowned enterprises, and are serving at tremendous scale: we process nearly 2 million hours of audio daily and handle more than 15 million API calls every day. This is a rare growth-stage opportunity where the business is proven, the revenue is durable, and the growth trajectory is steep and getting steeper. We have a super flat culture and expect our employees to be deeply intimate with the details at all levels.
If you've ever felt buried under layers of bureaucracy, starved of real ownership, or frustrated watching your work disappear into a slow-moving org, AssemblyAI is built differently. The company operates as a true meritocracy, with no heavy planning or approval processes and no gatekeeping on the tools or information you need. For anyone who genuinely cares about voice AI, not as a trend to chase, but as a technology to build, this is the place where the most interesting problems at the most interesting scale are being solved by a team small enough that you'll actually know everyone's name.
About the role:
We're looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join a small, high-leverage marketing team as a true generalist. You'll run product launches end-to-end, own positioning and messaging for parts of our product suite, and support the rest of the PMM engine — sales enablement, competitive intelligence, customer proof, website copy, and campaigns.
AssemblyAI ships fast: new models, new products, and new capabilities land every quarter, and each one needs a story, a launch, and the enablement to sell it. You'll partner closely with product, research, sales, growth, and brand to make sure every release lands with the right buyers — developers and product teams building voice agents, medical scribes, AI note takers, and customer-call intelligence.
This is a hands-on role. You'll write the copy, build the deck, ship the landing page, and run the launch yourself, using modern AI tools to move at the pace the market demands.
What You’ll Do:
Product Launches
- Run product and model launches end-to-end using our launch playbook — landing pages, announcement blog, email, social, Product Hunt, in-product modules, and handoffs to paid and influencer partners
- Own the launch plan: timeline, tiering, stakeholder alignment, asset production, and the internal and external communications that go with it
- Align on success metrics with product and marketing leads before each launch, then report honestly on what worked and what didn't
- Build evergreen campaigns that keep shipped products growing between launches — refreshing assets, retargeting stalled signups, and cultivating verticals long after launch day
Positioning & Messaging
- Own positioning and messaging for assigned products across our suite — speech-to-text, streaming, text-to-speech, and new product lines as they ship
- Translate technical capabilities (accuracy, latency, model improvements) into positioning that ties to business outcomes for developers and enterprise buyers
- Develop strategic narratives for our top use cases — voice agents, medical scribes and dictation, AI note takers, and customer calls — including the buyers, competitors, and market dynamics in each
- Keep the website accurate and consistent as the product and positioning evolve — product pages, solution pages, and landing pages — owning narrative and copy while partnering with brand and web on build and publish
Sales Enablement
- Build and maintain the core enablement library: pitch decks, one-pagers, battlecards, FAQs, demo scripts, and objection handling
- Run enablement sessions for sales and CS on new launches, positioning changes, and competitive updates
- Gather feedback from reps on what's landing and what's missing, and close the loop with product and marketing
Competitive Intelligence
- Track competitor moves — model releases, pricing changes, positioning, and campaigns — and keep internal teams informed
- Maintain competitive benchmarks, battlecards, and comparison pages, and turn competitive shifts into messaging and campaign responses
- Partner with research and product on benchmark claims so our comparisons are accurate, defensible, and current
Customer Marketing
- Source and produce customer proof points — case studies, quotes, logos, and video — from identifying the customer to shipping the asset
- Partner with growth and CS on expansion and upsell campaigns
- Feed customer insight back into positioning: what buyers actually say, why they chose us, and where they struggle
Growth & Market Insight
- Collaborate with lifecycle, demand gen, and paid partners on campaigns — email nurtures, onboarding flows, audience building, and targeting based on signup behavior
- Spot emerging use cases and verticals from customer feedback, signup trends, and market signals — and flag where we should lean in next
What You’ll Need:
- 3–5 years in B2B product marketing, ideally with experience owning launches and positioning at a developer-focused, API-first, or AI company. We value non-traditional paths (former sales engineers, content or growth backgrounds) as much as classic PMM résumés.
- Proven experience running product launches end-to-end — you've owned the plan, the assets, the cross-functional coordination, and the results
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into positioning that ties to business outcomes for developers and enterprise buyers
- Experience building enablement materials sales actually uses, and a point of view on how to tell whether it's working
- Strong writing: you can produce clear, specific copy for a landing page, a launch email, a battlecard, and an exec deck — and know how each should differ
- A hands-on builder: comfortable shipping website edits, landing pages, and emails yourself with modern AI tools (Claude, Claude Code, Cursor) rather than only briefing others
- Comfort with ambiguity and speed — our campaigns ship in weeks, not quarters, and priorities shift as the market does
- Excellent cross-functional project management and communication skills
- Fluent with AI and LLMs in your daily workflow — you use them to move faster on research, drafting, analysis, and iteration, and have a stance on where they help vs. where they get in the way
- Deeply curious about Voice AI and excited to market infrastructure that helps developers build the next generation of voice-powered products
Nice to Have:
- Experience in AI/ML, speech, conversation intelligence, or voice tech
- Background marketing to developers and product teams
- Experience running competitive intelligence programs or maintaining benchmarks
- Experience with growth or activation metrics — you've owned a number, not just a content calendar
- Familiarity with developer tooling ecosystems and modern GTM strategies

Adapt your resume
