Product Safety Engineer Tooling

Introduction to the job

Are you enthusiastic about ensuring safety for ASML machinery and Tools? We are looking for a Safety expert to join our team who takes the responsibility for the safety approvals and certification of machinery and tools.
 

Within global Product Safety we have to ensure that ASML is developing machinery and Tools that are safe to use and comply to regulations and customer requirements. To achieve this goal the Global Product Safety Tool team facilitates in design requirements enabling designers creating in developing safe & compliant Machinery and Tools. 

Role and responsibilities

• Review designs on machine safety & Tool compliance

• Sparring partner of designers in the design phase

• Creates product compliance certification (CE)

• 2nd line support for competence organization, consultancy role towards competence leads

• Closely follow the evolving machine safety legislation and assess its impact on ASML

• Networking with peers in- and outside ASML (other industries) on safety and implementation issues

• Communicate relevant Safet & Compliance (S&C) information to all levels in the organization

• Manage the intake of new legislation, Standards and guidelines: use IT tooling to identify upcoming changes, handle incoming information from external organizations (notified bodies),

• Consult frequently with corporate legal on impact assessment of changes in the regulatory landscape ensuring alignment with corporate policies

• Manage the Initiate impact assessments process of changes in new legislation/standards for ASML, prepare the impact analysis for the regulatory board

Education and experience

Bachelor’s or master's degree in occupational health and safety, engineering or a related field.

• Proven experience in safety, preferable in a technical or manufacturing environment

• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards (E.g., NEN, IEC OSHA, ANSI, ISO)
