Wood is currently recruiting for a Scaffolding Supervisor to join the team for an immediate start, supporting construction (OSBL Areas) activities on a major EPCM project for a key client project in Chonburi, Thailand. This role is offered as an initial 12-month contract with the opportunity to continue as an ongoing, longer-term assignment and available for Thai National.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, your immediate focus will be supporting the supporting construction (OSBL Areas) activities on a major EPCM project for a key client. You will bring to life Woods three pillar strategy of Inspired Culture, Delivery Excellence and Profitable Growth on the project. Leading by example, you will consistently display and enforce Wood values and behaviours, and commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour, to ensure safe, reliable operations and client satisfaction.
You will thrive on the challenge of balancing technical, team, client, and project leadership in this key site-based role with your focus on relationships and delivery, enabling you to anticipate project needs beyond the immediate scope. You will drive technical excellence and assurance on the Commissiong portion while working in close partnership with other disciplines and the client, to enable robust technical decisions that ultimately add value to the client and project.
In addition, you will:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction supervisors and engineers within assigned areas. Provide daily supervisory surveillance checks and records, ensuring that contractors’ management and supervision are providing safe working conditions and permit procedures, protective equipment, experienced / qualified supervision and manpower, with reliable, well maintained equipment to execute the contracted works as per contract schedule and targets
- Routinely study, check, review and validate the discipline scope of work against the appropriate Contract Requisition to ensure the Contractors
- Ensure that the contractors scaffold material is of an approved type and that contractor scaffolders are experienced and qualified in its use
- Ensure that all false works are approved before they are erected
- Ensure that all scaffold structures and false work are controlled by a Scaftag type system
- Ensure that only qualified scaffold personnel modify scaffold structures, false work, and move scaffold boards
- Proactive in providing support to project team in assigned project work as and when required
- Vocation, Diploma, bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical or related field
- Min of 10 years of experience in Scaffolding Supervisory in the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Construction environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Considerable experience of supervising Scaffolding contractors to achieve effective construction execution
