ABOUT THE ROLE
Freshworks is looking for a Senior Analyst- Cybersecurity to join our GTM (Go-To-Market) Cybersecurity team. You'll sit at the intersection of Cybersecurity, customer trust, and go-to-market — acting as a subject matter expert who gives prospective and existing customers confidence and assurance in Freshworks' security posture.
Reporting to the Manager, Cybersecurity, you'll be a hands-on technical security advisor: fielding customer questions, responding to RFPs and security questionnaires, and partnering with Security Engineering and Product Engineering to translate technical security detail into clear, customer-ready answers. This is an execution-focused role within a growing team — you'll work inside the playbooks, templates, and systems the team builds, sharpening them through direct customer contact.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Be a trusted technical security advisor. Serve as a subject matter expert on cloud security, AWS architecture, and product security posture for prospective and existing customers.
- Own the customer security dialogue. Respond to cybersecurity questionnaires, RFIs/RFPs, and other due diligence documents, and join customer calls jointly with Sales, Pre-Sales, Channel Sales, Customer Success, and Deals Desk teams.
- Be the single point of contact for cloud security asks. Work closely with Security Engineering and Product Engineering as the primary liaison for cloud security and AWS architecture-related customer questions.
- Create reusable security collateral. Partner with Security Engineering and Product Engineering to build customer-shareable technical security content based on recurring customer asks.
- Review contracts with a security lens. Perform contract reviews (MSA, DPA, BAA, and related agreements) for cybersecurity obligations relevant to the role.
- Coach and upskill the team. Support existing team members in strengthening their technical security knowledge.
- Work across time zones. Align to different regions/shifts as needed, given the breadth of time zones Freshworks' customers span.
- 4–7 years of experience in Cybersecurity, with depth in Application Security Architecture, Security Pre-Sales, or Solutioning.
- Experience with cloud services/technology (AWS) as it relates to cybersecurity.
- Good understanding of web frameworks and architecture.
- Any experience in Pre-Sales or Solution Engineering within a SaaS setup is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills — able to communicate concisely and unambiguously with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-growing environment, with the discipline to respond to customers contextually and on time.
- Self-sufficient and able to work with minimal direct supervision.
- Flexibility to work different shifts/regions — this is a mandatory requirement of the role.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of cloud security fundamentals on AWS (IAM, VPC, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub).
- Familiarity with web application security fundamentals: OWASP Top 10, secure SDLC basics, API security, and encryption standards (TLS, AES-256, key management).
- General understanding of SaaS security models, multi-tenant architecture, and shared responsibility frameworks.
- Exposure to security questionnaire and trust center platforms (e.g., Loopio, Responsive, SafeBase) and GRC tools (e.g., Drata, Vanta) is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret security documentation, SOC 2 audit reports, and architecture diagrams.
- Good with automation — comfortable using scripting, workflow builders, or no-code/low-code tools to speed up repetitive tasks.
- Working understanding of AI/GenAI concepts and how they intersect with data security and privacy, to speak confidently to customer questions in this area.
Certifications (Nice to have)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent foundational certification
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect – Associate
- ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
- Certified Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK)
Soft Skills
- Clear communication: able to distill security topics for technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- Cross-functional collaboration: comfortable working with Security Engineering, Legal, Product, Sales, and Customer Success.
- Customer empathy: understands that behind every questionnaire is a customer trying to make a trust decision.
- Reliability under pressure: able to triage competing customer requests across time zones and deliver consistently.
- Coachability and a growth mindset, with willingness to mentor others as experience grows.
NICE TO HAVE
- Prior experience in Pre-Sales or Solution Engineering at a SaaS company.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, or HIPAA.
- Exposure to trust center platforms (e.g., SafeBase) or security questionnaire tools (e.g., Loopio, Responsive).
