Job Description

Thomson Reuters™ helps legal, tax, trade and compliance professionals make decisions they can trust. Its AI assistant, CoCounsel, is used by more than one million professionals in over 100 countries. TR is seeking an AI-first marketing leader to build a scalable growth engine across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Greater China, India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa, and turn it into revenue. If you’d rather build than inherit, this role is for you.

You’ll lead TR’s regional growth and demand COE, which runs integrated, audience-led marketing from brand to demand to revenue. You’ll own the region’s marketing pipeline target and report to the Vice President, Marketing, Asia and Emerging Markets. You’ll build the playbooks and automation every market uses, turn a fast-moving regulatory landscape into sustained demand, and use shared global platforms while bringing regional insight into local and global campaigns. You’ll also have distinctive assets: TR’s legal community and events platform across Asia, and Synergy customer events.

Key Responsibilities

In this opportunity as Senior Director, Growth and Demand, you will be focusing on:

  • Build and lead the growth and demand team, set priorities, resolve competing business and market needs, and manage the regional marketing budget, agencies and partners.
  • Own the marketing pipeline target: sourced, influenced and accelerated pipeline from new customers. Agree a trusted definition with sales and global marketing operations, and track it by market from first touch to closed-won.
  • Set the regional brand-to-demand strategy with segment and sales leaders, turning customer insight, propositions and sales plans into scalable programs and agreeing where each will create the most pipeline.
  • Lead the demand marketing team to design programs around the region’s buying committees: general counsel and legal operations leaders, heads of tax and finance, and compliance and trade teams.
  • Run an always-on, full-funnel engine across content, paid, owned and social channels, including WeChat and KakaoTalk, on a continuous test-and-learn cadence. Field marketing activates it through accounts, sales, business development, partners and events.
  • Extend reach through partners with packaged, broad-based campaigns they can run with customers
  • Lead account-based marketing for Enterprise customers, designing the 1:1 and 1:few playbooks field marketing activates with sales, measured on revenue rather than activity.
  • Oversee performance marketing and regional websites, holding every channel to pipeline and cost per opportunity, and work with global digital experts to strengthen visibility in search and AI-generated answers, including Naver and Baidu.
  • Use research, behavioural data, win/loss analysis and sales insight to sharpen audiences and messaging, measure what works, and shift effort and budget accordingly.
  • Make the team AI-first across insight, content, localisation, personalisation, campaign build and reporting, and lead regional marketing operations, working with global marketing operations, to build the data, automation and measurement foundations the region needs.

Required Qualifications

You are a fit for the role of Senior Director, Growth and Demand if your background includes:

  • You’re customer-obsessed: you start with insight, translate research and data into a clear view of buyer needs, and can show how that insight improved results.
  • You’re data-driven: you decide on evidence, measure what matters, test and learn, and stop what doesn’t work.
  • You’ve built and scaled a centralised demand or growth marketing function across multiple markets, ideally in Asia or emerging markets, including building or transforming a team.
  • You’ve led integrated, audience-led programs with segment, product marketing and sales leaders, scaled them across markets and partners, and managed marketing to a pipeline target using funnel economics.
  • You’re AI-first: you’ve used AI to transform how campaigns are created and run, and you’re fluent in modern marketing technology, including 6sense, Eloqua, Salesforce and Power BI.
  • You lead through others, bringing out the best in senior leaders and aligning stakeholders without adding bureaucracy.
  • You thrive without a set playbook and work effectively in a global, matrixed company, using shared platforms and bringing regional insight into global strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in legal, tax or other regulated professional markets, or in marketing a platform rather than a single product. The industry can be learned; craft, regional expertise and AI curiosity matter most.

  • List these exact terms on your resume: Growth Marketing, Demand Generation, B2b Marketing, Strategy, and Marketing Automation. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
  • Show where AI is part of your daily process, not a one-off project. This role expects it to be a running habit.
