Overview

Keep Inception42’s enterprise networks and secure access services reliable, resilient, and secure. You will configure, operate, troubleshoot, and improve Aruba and Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls, Zscaler ZIA/ZPA, and Azure hybrid connectivity. This is a hands-on senior engineering role with ownership of complex operational issues, controlled changes, and technical delivery within agreed architecture and security standards.

Responsibilities:

What You’ll Own

• Operate and improve LAN, WLAN, WAN, Internet, VPN, and hybrid-cloud connectivity, maintaining availability, performance, segmentation, and secure traffic flows.

• Configure and troubleshoot Aruba switches, wireless controllers or gateways, and access points; maintain reliable coverage, capacity, and configuration baselines.

• Administer Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms, including IOS XE/NX-OS, VLANs, VRFs, OSPF/BGP, QoS, high availability, secure management, and software upgrades.

• Implement and maintain Palo Alto firewall policies, zones, NAT, VPN, high availability, logging, and rule reviews, applying approved security controls and change procedures.

• Operate Zscaler ZIA/ZPA services, including secure Internet and private-application access, traffic forwarding, PAC files, inspection, exceptions, and connectivity troubleshooting.

• Configure and troubleshoot Azure VNets, subnets, peering, VPN Gateway, site-to-site and point-to-site VPNs, UDRs, BGP, DNS, NSGs, and inspected egress paths.

• Monitor service health, security events, anomalous traffic, capacity, configuration drift, and ISP resilience. Improve telemetry, SIEM integration, alert quality, and escalation.

• Own complex network and security incident investigation and restoration, coordinating containment and recovery with Cybersecurity, the SOC, cloud teams, and service providers. Complete root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.

• Execute vulnerability remediation, configuration hardening, patching, and controlled changes with documented testing, rollback plans, and post-change validation.

• Deliver network and security upgrades and migrations; contribute practical design improvements and validate resilience, failover, interoperability, and capacity.

• Maintain network diagrams, inventories, configuration backups, runbooks, and audit evidence. Coordinate cabling, patching, labeling, testing, and as-built documentation to agreed standards.

• Drive vendor and carrier technical escalations against SLAs; track support, licensing, warranty, and renewal requirements and provide technical input to procurement.

• Share troubleshooting methods, review implementation changes, and mentor engineers. Track availability, incident restoration, recurrence, remediation, and delivery outcomes.

Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

• 6+ years of enterprise networking or network-security experience, including hands-on responsibility for complex production operations and incident resolution.

• Strong hands-on experience with Aruba switching and wireless, Cisco Catalyst/Nexus routing and switching, and Palo Alto firewalls, including routing protocols, segmentation, policy, NAT, VPN, and high availability.

• Practical experience operating Zscaler ZIA/ZPA, SASE and Zero Trust access controls, proxy forwarding, PAC files, inspection, and exception handling.

• Experience with Azure networking and hybrid connectivity, including VNets, peering, VPN Gateway, routing, UDRs/BGP, NSGs, and network segregation.

• Strong TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, network access control, and troubleshooting fundamentals; ability to diagnose issues across network, firewall, proxy, cloud, and identity boundaries.

• Experience with monitoring and SIEM integration, secure configurations, vulnerability remediation, incident and problem management, controlled changes, and vendor SLA escalations.

• Clear technical communication, sound operational judgment, disciplined documentation, and the ability to coordinate changes and incidents across technical teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Cisco ISE/802.1X, Catalyst Center, or Catalyst SD-WAN where deployed.

• Relevant Cisco CCNP, Aruba, Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, Azure networking, or ITIL certification, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
