Job Description
We are looking for a commercially strong, entrepreneurial and energized Senior Key Account Manager to help drive the next chapter of our eCommerce and Omnichannel business for the LEGO Group in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
This is a senior commercial role built around three equally important responsibilities: leading and developing a team of three, owning and growing a strategic customer, and shaping new growth opportunities for the future of our business.
You will operate across today's business and tomorrow's opportunities: delivering commercial results with your customer, enabling your team to succeed independently, and taking the driver seat on strategic topics that can unlock our next wave of growth.
This is a role for someone who enjoys real ownership: someone who can turn data into commercial decisions, build ambitious customer strategies, challenge the status quo and translate plans into execution and measurable business impact.
Bring your commercial curiosity, leadership mindset and passion for eCommerce, and join a team that is shaping how the LEGO Group wins with consumers and customers in an increasingly digital retail landscape.
Please note: This position will be based in our LEGO® Sales Office in Grasbrunn and will follow a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and up to 2 days remotely. Relocation support is not offered.
Core Responsibilities
1. Own and grow a strategic customer
- End-to-end commercial ownership: Personally own one of our key eCommerce or Specialty Retail customers across strategy, planning, negotiation, execution and performance
- Customer strategy: Translate shopper, consumer, market and performance insights into a clear customer growth strategy
- Business performance: Drive sustainable revenue and profitability through strong commercial judgment and rigorous performance management
- Senior partnerships: Build trusted relationships across the customer organization and influence mutually beneficial decisions
- Commercial execution: Connect assortment, availability, pricing, promotions, content, media and shopper experience into one coherent customer plan
- Negotiations: Lead annual and ongoing negotiations with a clear understanding of value creation, investments and long-term partnership potential
2. Lead and develop a high-performing team
- People leadership: Lead, coach and develop a team of three (Junior) Account Managers, creating clarity on priorities, expectations and individual development
- Empowerment: Enable your team to independently drive their businesses, solve challenges and identify new commercial opportunities
- High-performance culture: Build an environment of accountability, collaboration, trust, learning and constructive challenge
- Leadership beyond your team: Act as a senior voice for the eCom team within the wider organization and actively contribute beyond your immediate scope
3. Shape the future of the business
- Strategic ownership: Take the driver seat on opportunities that go beyond today's account business and can unlock future growth
- New growth opportunities: Identify and unlock new customers, business models, audiences, partnerships and commercial opportunities
- Business cases: Bring together data, market understanding, risks, implications and recommendations to enable strong commercial decisions
- Cross-functional leadership: Mobilize the right stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations and other functions to make opportunities happen
What success looks like
You build a strong and growing customer partnership, develop a team that increasingly operates independently, and create momentum behind the strategic opportunities that will shape our future business:
- Prioritize based on business impact and make clear commercial choices
- Move comfortably between strategic thinking and hands-on execution
- Take ownership and proactively drive topics without waiting for detailed direction
- Bring facts, implications and a clear recommendation when decisions are needed
- Deliver with accuracy, pace and reliability, and follow through to measurable results
- Communicate clearly, top-down and according to your audience
Do you have what it takes?
We are looking for someone who combines strong commercial expertise with leadership, curiosity and personal ownership.
- Proven experience managing major eCommerce, Omnichannel or comparable retail accounts, with demonstrated success in driving sales and profitability
- Some years of experience leading and developing teams, with the ability to inspire, coach and drive high performance
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, turning sales, market and customer data into strategic decisions and actions
- Strong track record in customer strategy, negotiations and building productive senior partnerships
- Good understanding of the commercial and digital levers driving eCommerce and omnichannel growth
- Confident decision-maker who takes ownership, prioritizes effectively and follows through
- Ability to navigate complexity and move between strategic thinking and hands-on execution
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Resilience, curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset in a fast-moving commercial environment
- Fluent German and English language skills
