About Airwallex

Airwallex is the AI-native financial operating system for a real-time, intelligent economy. More than 675,000 businesses, including McLaren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN, and TikTok, use us, directly or through our platform partners, to run their financial operations or build and monetize financial products of their own.

We started in Melbourne in 2015 to build the infrastructure global commerce runs on. We're the regulated backbone behind global payments: not by accident, but by design. A decade plus, 85+ licenses, and a financial infrastructure spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

We're co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore, with more than 2,700 people across 27 offices. We hire builders with founder-level energy, people who move fast with good judgment, dig in with real curiosity, and make calls from first principles rather than waiting to be told what to do. Read our operating principles to see it in full.

How you'll make impact

As Airwallex’s first dedicated marketing hire in Mexico, you’ll build our marketing presence from the ground up. You’ll localize global campaigns, develop Mexico-specific programs, and partner with the local commercial organization to generate pipeline and accelerate customer growth.

  • Own the Mexico marketing strategy and build programs supporting cross-border commerce, international business, fintech, payments, and digital-business growth.

  • Plan, produce, and execute local physical and hybrid field events, including C-level roundtables, networking dinners, customer workshops, trade shows, and industry conferences.

  • Develop and execute the local content roadmap, including localized thought leadership, whitepapers, industry reports, and lead magnets that drive top-of-funnel demand and establish Airwallex as a market authority.

  • Localize global messaging and campaigns for Mexican businesses, decision-makers, and buying journeys.

  • Develop Spanish-language content, customer communications, events, and campaign experiences for the Mexican market.

  • Partner with the Mexico commercial organization to identify priority industries, customer segments, use cases, and local proof points.

  • Build relationships across Mexican fintech, technology, commerce, startup, and business communities.

  • Coordinate local market requirements with Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and central Marketing teams.

  • Own the Mexico marketing budget, ensuring efficient spend and measurable return on investment.

  • Define and track local marketing KPIs tied to pipeline, revenue, brand awareness, and customer acquisition; report on campaign effectiveness and continuously optimize performance.

  • Represent Airwallex’s marketing voice in Mexico at local events, in media, and with ecosystem partners, positioning Airwallex as a thought leader in the market.

You’ll work from our Mexico City office five days a week.

What we're looking for

Essentials

  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, with meaningful experience in regional, country, growth, demand-generation, integrated, field, or product marketing.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing marketing plans for a country, region, business line, or new market.

  • A strong track record of building programs from the ground up and delivering measurable outcomes rather than only managing existing campaigns.

  • Experience partnering closely with Sales, Partnerships, SDR, RevOps, Product, and global Marketing teams.

  • Proven ability to connect marketing activity to business outcomes, including pipeline, revenue, acquisition, conversion, activation, or customer growth.

  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing channels, campaign operations, measurement, attribution, and funnel optimization.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.

  • Strong local-market knowledge and credibility with relevant customers, partners, media, industry groups, or ecosystem stakeholders in Mexico.

  • Experience operating independently in a high-growth, ambiguous, or evolving environment.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, project-management, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and coordinate complex cross-functional work without direct authority.

  • Experience in fintech, payments, banking, SaaS, or B2B technology sectors.

Preferred

  • Experience marketing cross-border payments, treasury, FX, or global financial infrastructure products to business audiences in Mexico or Latin America.

  • Prior experience at a high-growth fintech or technology company during a new-market launch or early-stage expansion phase.

  • Comfort operating in environments with high standards, fast iteration cycles, and evolving priorities.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and continuous improvement.

  • Experience managing external agencies, freelancers, or vendor relationships in the Mexican market.

You'll thrive here if

  • You're comfortable owning the roadmap yourself.

  • You're comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and moving quickly anyway.

  • You're excited by a category that hasn't been won yet, and want to be early enough to shape it.

  • You enjoy working closely with people across multiple countries and time zones as part of one connected, global team, including flexing your hours occasionally to make that connection work.

  • You value in-person collaboration and are happy being in the office five days a week.

Learn more about your team

Marketing at Airwallex is a growth function, not a support one. The brief is ambitious: build the brand to match the platform, well-established in some markets and still emerging in others. This team leads across product marketing, brand, demand generation, and regional GTM: understanding what our platform actually does, then building the stories that make it land with real businesses, not just buyers on paper. They work closely with product, sales, and leadership, so the link between marketing activity and business outcome is direct.

If you want to build a global brand through insight, sharp positioning, and creative that earns attention and trust, this is where marketing has real leverage.
