Owns marketing strategy and execution for the Tax and Accounting Professionals portfolio across ANZ, driving pipeline and customer retention.
Job Description
This is a 12-month fixed term contract role.
As senior marketing manager, tax and accounting, you are accountable for marketing across TR’s Tax and Accounting Professionals (TAAP) portfolio in ANZ: Checkpoint, Checkpoint World and the ESG reporting solution. You own the marketing plan and lead its delivery: generating pipeline for a sales-led business, growing and retaining the customer base, and building the market presence of TR’s tax and accounting brands. The role is roughly 30% strategy and planning and 70% hands-on execution: you design the plan and set the standard for the portfolio, and do most of the work yourself.
The portfolio serves accountants and tax professionals across ANZ and, through Checkpoint World, international tax specialists in markets outside the US. Much of the growth opportunity sits with existing and lapsed customers, and with new sustainability reporting requirements that are creating demand for the ESG solution.
Key Responsibilities
In this opportunity as a Senior Marketing Manager, Tax and Accounting- ANZ, you will:
- Own the TAAP marketing plan: create and deliver the integrated marketing plan for the TAAP portfolio in ANZ, aligned to business targets and agreed with the TAAP leadership team, covering priorities, budget, calendar and measures.
- Drive pipeline and revenue growth: deliver marketing’s contribution to TAAP targets through qualified leads, sourced and influenced pipeline, and wins, across ANZ and the international markets served by Checkpoint World.
- Plan and run integrated campaigns: lead always-on and launch campaigns end to end across email and marketing automation, digital, webinars, events and content, building audiences with Marketing Operations and doing much of the execution yourself.
- Lead go-to-market for launches: translate global product positioning and assets into regional launch plans, sales tools and customer communications, so new products and capabilities reach the right audiences and sales are ready at launch.
- Grow and retain the customer base: develop marketing to existing and lapsed customers, covering adoption, upgrade, renewal and win-back, with Customer Growth and Retention, and turn customer results into proof for future campaigns.
- Set the standard for content and copy: own the quality and consistency of TAAP marketing content, writing and editing priority material, reviewing and challenging what the business produces, and directing writers, designers and agencies.
- Manage the digital and web presence: own TAAP content across TR’s websites and digital channels, so it reflects the strength of the portfolio’s content brands, stays current, and performs in search and conversion, working with TR’s web and digital teams.
- Measure, report and improve: track and report marketing performance against agreed targets, and use testing, data and customer insight to improve results over time.
- Partner with sales and the business: act as the marketing partner to the TAAP leadership team and sales, aligning on targets, lead management and follow-up, equipping sales with messaging and materials, and building marketing capability across the business.
Required Qualifications
You’re a fit for the role of Senior Marketing Manager, Tax and Accounting- ANZ, if you have the following required qualifications:
- Marketing planning: You have built a marketing plan for a business or portfolio from a low base, set the priorities and budget, and gained agreement from senior stakeholders.
- Integrated campaigns: You have planned and run integrated B2B campaigns yourself, targeting prospects and existing customers (including upgrade or win-back campaigns), that generated pipeline for a sales team and delivered measurable results.
- Launch and go-to-market: You have taken a product to market in a competitive category, turning positioning into campaigns, sales tools, and customer communications.
- Content and copy: You are a strong writer and editor, with the judgement to improve weak content and to brief writers and designers to a high standard.
- Marketing technology and digital: You do the work yourself in marketing automation, CRM, web content management, and digital channels, rather than only briefing others.
- Measurement: You use data to track pipeline from lead to win and to decide what to scale, fix, or stop, including running simple tests.
- Sales and stakeholder partnership: You have the confidence to tell senior stakeholders when work is not good enough, and the credibility to work as a peer to sales without formal authority.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience marketing to accountants, tax advisers or other professional services firms, and knowledge of the Australian tax and accounting market, its professional bodies and events.
- Familiarity with ESG or sustainability reporting.
- Experience running webinars and events that produced pipeline, with follow-up agreed with sales.
- Experience building audiences and working with marketing operations on data, lead routing and consent.
- Everyday use of AI tools for research, drafting and analysis, with care in checking the output.
- Experience marketing AI-enabled or subscription software, or running campaigns across several countries.
- Hands-on use of Eloqua, Salesforce or a similar stack.
