Senior SRE Engineer/ Sys Ops, GISACC

Mission

Valeo is hiring a Senior SRE Engineer for the currently-growing GISACC department.

He/She will be responsible for provisioning, operating & the administration of the infrastructure of Valeo tools and applications used by R&D Engineers across all Valeo worldwide sites (either hosted on-prem or on AWS).

He/She will be also responsible for implementing & configuring the monitoring solutions, required for monitoring the previously mentioned tools and applications.

Responsibilities

• PI Planning & Alignment: Collaborate in Program Increment (PI) planning and sprint standups to align infrastructure roadmaps and SRE initiatives with delivery goals while mitigating cross-team dependencies.
• Proactive Monitoring & Observability: Oversee full-stack telemetry and proactive monitoring strategies, leveraging distributed tracing, infrastructure metrics, and real-time failure detection to mitigate risks early.
• Capacity Management: Optimize resource utilization across AWS and on-premises environments through intelligent right-sizing and telemetry-driven capacity planning.
• Advanced CI/CD & Progressive Delivery: Implement continuous verification, automated canary deployments, and automated checks via robust CI/CD pipelines to guarantee functional correctness in production.
• FinOps & Cost Governance: Drive automated cloud cost attribution, tagging strategies, and resource governance across all workloads.
• Infrastructure as Code & GitOps: Provision, fine-tune, and scale infrastructure using declarative IaC and GitOps workflows.
• Reliability Engineering & Bottleneck Resolution: Identify architectural bottlenecks, reliability risks, and security vulnerabilities within operated services, engineering resilient and automated solutions.
• Incident Response & SRE: Lead automated incident response, blameless root-cause analysis, and self-healing workflows for production incidents.
• Shift-Left DevSecOps & Compliance: Enforce automated security policies (SAST, DAST, container scanning, and SCA) across all pipeline stages.
• ITSM Incident Management: Manage operational incidents via enterprise ticketing platforms, delivering rapid resolution within strict SLAs.
• On-Call & Maintenance Operations: Manage rotational on-call duties for emergency outages and planned, high-impact maintenance windows, ensuring seamless change execution.
• Engineering Metrics & KPIs: Track and report platform health and engineering performance using DORA metrics and availability KPIs.
• Continuous Improvement & Mentorship: Champion a culture of automation and psychological safety by submitting enhancement proposals, eliminating toil, and providing technical mentorship and peer reviews.
  

Education/Training

• B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Communication, or Electronics. 

• B.Sc. in Computer Science 

Professional Experience

From 3+  years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Linux and Windows  Administration is a Must
• AWS & Cloud Operations related knowledge is a Must
• Very Good knowledge in Terraform
• Very Good knowledge in Docker
• Very Good knowledge in Jenkins administration
• Git knowledge is a Must
• Ansible  and K8s knowledge is a plus
•  Good knowledge in monitoring or log analysis tools (ex. Prometheus & Grafana, Splunk, ELK, Datadog, ......)
• Preferred to have any scripting knowledge
• -English Language is a must
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent Troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Team spirit and excellent communication abilities
• High sense of ownership and responsibility
• Customer orientation is highly required
• Ability to come up with alternative ideas/implementation to handle critical situation/issues
• High sense of ownership and responsibility

Languages

• English is a must. 
• German or French is a plus.
