Forecast and Strategy team (F&S) Team within Amazon Advertising is looking for an experienced professional with excellent analytical skills and strong business acumen to develop and implement our demand forecasting tools and mechanisms in a fast-paced and innovative environment, at a global scale.

As a Sr Forecasting Analyst, you will be responsible for modeling forecasting problems, discovering insights and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, machine learning, algorithmic, data mining and visualization techniques which you will implement and enhance.

You will need to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to analyze forecast variances, understand and mitigate variance drivers, identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies, and deliver successfully against high organizational standards. You should be able to apply a breadth of tools, data sources and analytical techniques to answer a wide range of high-impact business questions and present the insights in concise and effective manner. Additionally, you should be an effective communicator capable of independently driving issues to resolution and communicating insights to non-technical audiences. This is a high impact role with goals that directly impacts the bottom line of the business. Accurate forecasts drive improvements in cost and quality of our advertising operations on a global scale.

The role covers Headcount planning responsibilities as well, which include creating staffing plans, in close partnership with Finance and Ops, leveraging the forecasts you would have generated.

Key job responsibilities
· Produce and communicate Long Range and Short Range forecasts and strategical headcount plans for a variety of business oriented KPIs.
· Design, build and implement innovative forecasting and headcount planning tools and mechanisms, to create a reliable and effective short and long term forecast for a wide range of Amazon Ads departments.
· Build and maintain KPIs that reliably reflect forecasting and staffing accuracy, and downstream impact on the business.
· Create new reporting & analytic opportunities by analyzing and understanding key planning processes
· Thought leadership on integration of new products/services supported by Advertising.
· Write and present documents up to the VP level.

Basic qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, statistics, computer science, business administration or a related field
- 3+ years of demand planning and forecasting experience
- Experience with statistical modeling / machine learning
- Experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R, or equivalent) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab, or equivalent)

Preferred qualifications

- MBA, or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent
- Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis
- Experience with AWS Tools and Technologies (Redshift, S3, EC2)
- Experience in automation and programming
- Knowledge of Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques
