Job Description:
The Vice President, Distribution, Life & Health, TD Insurance is accountable for the strategy, evolution and performance of Life & Health distribution and delivery excellence across Credit Protection, Balance Protection, Term Life and Travel. The role leads channel management and sales effectiveness across Branch, Mobile Mortgage Specialists, Business Banking, Wealth, Phone, Digital, Personal Credit Adjudication and Affinity channels.
As a senior enterprise leader, the Vice President builds strong relationships across TD Insurance and TD Bank Group to grow insured customers, reinforce One TD alignment and ensure distribution priorities are integrated into product, journey, marketing, technology and partner-channel roadmaps. The role balances growth, customer and colleague experience, financial performance, delivery health, and sound risk and control management.
Accountabilities
- Lead the strategy, annual planning, evolution and performance of Life & Health distribution across Credit Protection, Balance Protection, Term Life and Travel.
- Own channel management and sales effectiveness across Branch, Mobile Mortgage Specialists, Business Banking, Wealth, Phone, Digital, Personal Credit Adjudication and Affinity channels.
- Establish the distribution operating model and drive delivery excellence, including the successful diagnosis, build and execution of product-led and related initiatives.
- Design and own the sales effectiveness framework, objectives and key results, scorecards and variable compensation recommendations for internal and partnership channels.
- Own the decision rights and performance of the Mortgage Protection Specialist and Term Life Specialist sales teams and their supporting capabilities.
- Build and evolve the customer-assisted Travel distribution model for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients in partnership with Wealth, TD Insurance partners and third parties.
- Shape distribution requirements for new and evolving Life & Health products and execute strategies to improve sales rates, channel penetration and customer outcomes.
- Bring the client and distribution perspective to Journey teams, influencing priorities, roadmaps, systems, tools and product features.
- Use customer, market, competitor, data and industry insights to inform strategy, investment choices and execution.
- Partner across Product, Journey, Marketing, Technology, Data and Analytics, Finance, PMO and distribution channels to deliver enterprise and TD Insurance priorities.
- Evolve channel strategies in response to regulatory and risk requirements; oversee controls and proactively identify, escalate and manage material delivery, risk and compliance issues.
- Manage distribution performance, collected premium and sales targets, expenses, earnings and product profitability, supported by clear scorecards and measurable outcomes.
- Attract, develop, motivate and retain a high-performing, inclusive and customer-centric leadership team and colleague population.
- Represent Life & Health Distribution in innovation, pan-TD Insurance and broader organizational initiatives, and facilitate the exchange of leading practices.
Capabilities, Skills and Experience
- Senior strategy-to-execution leader with a track record of driving growth, transformation and measurable results in a regulated environment.
- Deep insurance and/or multi-channel distribution expertise across branch, advisor, Wealth, digital and affinity channels.
- Strong commercial, financial and market acumen, including performance management, scorecards, incentive compensation and profitability.
- Enterprise collaborator and influential communicator who builds alignment across Insurance, Retail, Wealth, Mobile Mortgage Specialists, Business Banking and control partners.
- Proven ability to evolve channel and distribution models, identify growth opportunities and use customer, market, risk and regulatory insights to improve outcomes.
- Inclusive people leader with experience leading large, high-performing teams and complex delivery mandates.
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Insurance or a related discipline; an advanced degree or relevant designation is an asset.
