Key responsibilities

The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Development of highly integrated power electronic devices for railway applications
• Construction and dimensioning of enclosures and internal construction elements (mechanical and electrical components and fixation elements)
• Product maintenance: reengineering and changes to existing products (model, material and part lists)
• Following the working student role: Thesis for Master/ Diploma as part of a specific innovation/ improvement project in the environment of PTC Creo and Windchill as main PLM tools in ABB Motion Traction.
• PTC Creo and Windchill knowledge and skilled practice are required. Harmonized with all PLM stakeholders where necessary.
• Possible Topics for a thesis:
  - Documentation: Definition and development of a functionality that is automatically generating specific, standardized views of products and components from actual models for related documents.  Interface from model to illustration based on active Creo models. Predefined descriptions and symbols for the generated views.
  - Modelling: parametric analogy for standard components
  - Definition of parametric models for the generation of metal sheet enclosures
• Engagement as junior engineer in Berlin mechanical engineering team to support products during their lifecycle (Transtechnik/ PTC products in various CAD  systems)

Qualifications for the role

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Mechatronics
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling and technical drawing creation using PTC Creo
• Fluent German language skills, both written and spoken
• Structured, independent, and detail-oriented working style
• Strong analytical thinking skills and excellent problem-solving abilities
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills
• High level of reliability, initiative, and motivation to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics and technologies
