Job Title
Advanced MR Recon Domain Software ExpertJob Description
Job Overview:
As an Advanced MR Recon Domain Software Expert in the MR Domain Software team, you will develop, integrate and optimise MR image-reconstruction software and algorithms that transform acquired MR raw data into reliable, clinically valuable images. You will drive image-quality performance across Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), Contrast-to-Noise Ratio (CNR), spatial resolution, sharpness, noise behavior, artefact suppression, robustness and reconstruction speed.
You will work closely with MR methods, scanning, hardware, clinical science and system engineering experts. You will connect MR acquisition behaviour with reconstruction performance, establish objective image-quality evidence, and deliver maintainable software capabilities for advanced MR systems.
Your role:
-Own the software design, implementation, integration and maintenance of MR reconstruction algorithms and image-processing capabilities.
-Develop and optimise reconstruction methods including Fourier-based reconstruction, parallel imaging, iterative reconstruction, compressed sensing, denoising, artefact correction and AI-based reconstruction where applicable.
-Analyse the relationship between acquisition parameters, k-space data, RF-coil sensitivity, calibration data, system conditions and resulting image quality.
--Define SNR, CNR, resolution, sharpness, noise, artefact and reconstruction-time targets; establish test methods, benchmarks, phantom studies and performance acceptance criteria.
-Investigate complex image-quality issues from development, scanner verification, clinical evaluation or field use; perform root-cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
-Develop reusable C++ software components, APIs, reconstruction workflows, configuration mechanisms and test frameworks; use Python and/or MATLAB for data analysis, automation and validation.
-Ensure reconstruction software is performant, maintainable, testable and traceable, using sound software architecture, code review, CI/CD and version-control practices.
-Collaborate with MR physicists, acquisition and hardware engineers, clinical scientists and system architects; communicate findings clearly and comply with applicable quality processes.
You're the right fit if:
--Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Medical Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics or a related field.
Substantial professional experience in MR image reconstruction, medical-imaging algorithms, MR physics or a closely related technical field.
Strong understanding of MR signal formation, k-space, Fourier reconstruction, image encoding, coil sensitivity and acquisition-to-image-quality relationships.
-Proficiency in modern C++ and Python; MATLAB experience for algorithm prototyping, data analysis, automation or validation is an advantage.
-Strong knowledge of image-quality evaluation, including SNR, CNR, spatial resolution, sharpness, artefacts, image uniformity and noise characteristics.
-Practical Windows development experience, including Git, building systems, code review, unit/integration testing, CI/CD, profiling and debugging of complex multi-component systems.
-Ability to analyse complex technical problems, define robust validation strategies and communicate clearly in spoken and written English.
Preferred experience
-Expertise in parallel imaging (for example SENSE, GRAPPA (Generalized Autocalibration Partially Parallel Acquisitions) or related techniques), compressed sensing, iterative reconstruction, non-Cartesian reconstruction, motion or distortion correction, or AI/deep-learning-based MR reconstruction.
-Experience with GPU/CUDA, high-performance computing, large-scale image-processing pipelines, numerical optimization or medical-device software development.
-Familiarity with DICOM, MR raw-data formats, clinical image-quality assessment and regulated high-technology product development.
What you will gain
You will contribute directly to advanced MR reconstruction technologies that support better diagnostic imaging and patient care. The role provides broad technical exposure across MR acquisition, physics, software and clinical applications in a global MR R&D environment.
