Are you an analytical problem-solver who thrives on untangling complex systems and building solutions that scale? AWS Billing Contract Onboarding is looking for a Contract Ingestion Analyst to own the accurate, timely ingestion of customer contracts into our billing systems — the critical step that ensures customers are billed correctly from day one. You'll move beyond executing defined procedures to analyzing why things break, designing fixes for novel contract structures, and partnering with engineering to make ingestion smarter and more resilient. You'll bring judgment to partially defined problems, experiment with AI and automation to improve accuracy, and help move the team toward the next generation of controllership. If you love diving into details, solving problems at the root, and building processes that scale — this is your role.

Key job responsibilities
Ingest customer contracts accurately and on time — acknowledge tickets within 1 business day, resolve standard issues within 5 days per SOP, and execute with ≥98.6% accuracy
Own end-to-end ingestion of complex contract structures, including multi-service and percentage-based constructs
Analyze ingestion failures and propose systemic fixes rather than one-off workarounds
Design solutions for new and non-standard contract structures, applying judgment where SOPs don't yet exist
Experiment with AI and automation to improve ingestion accuracy and reduce billing errors
Lead ingestion-related discussions in weekly business reviews with leadership
Partner cross-functionally with engineering and design teams to translate ingestion needs into system requirements
Identify opportunities to reduce manual touches and design scalable ingestion processes for new use cases
Document ingestion issues, procedures, and new contractual terms thoroughly for team reference

A day in the life
You'll start by reviewing your ingestion queue — prioritizing tickets and working complex contract structures that don't fit a standard template. When something fails, you dig into the root cause and propose a systemic fix rather than a patch. You'll partner with your team and engineering on system requirements, lead the ingestion portion of an WBR, and test whether AI can catch errors earlier in the process. Throughout, you document what you learn and look for ways to take manual touches out of tomorrow's workflow.

About the team
The AWS Billing Contract Onboarding team makes sure every customer contract is ingested into our billing systems accurately and on time — the foundation of a correct first bill. We're a collaborative, customer-obsessed group that partners closely with engineering, design, and finance to solve hard problems at scale. We believe in operational excellence, continuous improvement, and using AI and automation to work smarter. You'll join a team that values deep expertise, clear communication, and helping each other grow.

Adapt your resume

  • List these exact terms on your resume: Data Analysis, Process Automation, Contract Management, Python, and Excel. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
  • Put the AI tool in a bullet point about what you did, not just in a skills list. This role treats it as a required part of the job.
