Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Credit Control Operations (Officer) to join the Credit Control function within State Street’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) division. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced risk professional who values ownership, analytical depth, and high‑impact work at the intersection of credit risk governance, controls, and management reporting. You will join a team close to decision‑making, playing a key role in protecting the firm through disciplined monitoring, escalation, and transparency.

This role is offered in a hybrid working model, allowing you to combine flexibility with meaningful in‑office collaboration.

Why this role is important to us

Credit Control is critical to ensuring State Street’s credit risk profile remains well governed, visible, and within risk appetite. The team provides early warning through limit monitoring, exception escalation, and insightful risk metrics relied upon by senior management and regulators. By joining the team, you will directly contribute to the strength and resilience of the Credit Risk framework, helping the organization respond quickly to risk events while continuously improving controls, data quality, and processes.

What you will be responsible for

In this role, you’ll sit at the heart of Credit Risk governance, ensuring real‑time visibility and control over the firm’s credit exposures. You will take ownership of credit limit monitoring and exception management, quickly identifying, investigating, and escalating issues such as limit breaches or aged overdrafts.

You will turn data into insight by delivering clear, high‑quality risk metrics and commentary that senior stakeholders rely on for decision‑making. Beyond day‑to‑day execution, you’ll help strengthen the control environment- improving data quality, supporting audits and regulatory reviews, and contributing to smarter, more efficient processes through automation and continuous improvement.

Working closely with Risk Managers and partner teams across the organization, you’ll play a visible role in keeping the firm within risk appetite while helping modernize how Credit Control operates.

What we value

  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and numeracy
  • Ability to balance structure and agility, managing recurring cycles alongside ad‑hoc, time‑sensitive work
  • Clear, confident communicator with the curiosity and problem‑solving mindset to challenge the status quo
  • Front‑office mentality- ownership, accountability, and the energy to continuously improve outcomes

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, gained through education or hands‑on professional experience
  • A few years of experience in a finance, risk, control, reporting, or analytical role within a financial institution or similar environment
  • Fluency in English, with confidence communicating in a business setting
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to turn data into insights; comfortable using PowerPoint

Additional requirements

  • Strong interest in data, controls, and understanding processes end‑to‑end, with a desire to see how things really work
  • Collaborative and comfortable working with international teams and stakeholders in a global environment
  • Organized, proactive, and ownership‑driven, able to manage priorities effectively while constantly looking for better ways to deliver results
  • Exposure to automation tools (Spotfire, Power BI, VBA, SQL, or similar) is a plus- but curiosity and willingness to learn matter more than prior expertise

 Work organization requirement

  • hybrid work model with 3 days of office presence per week

  • List these exact terms on your resume: Credit Risk, Risk Management, Data Quality, Automation, and Process Improvement. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
  • Attach one line of real, concrete experience to at least one of them. A tool named with nothing behind it rarely survives a human read.
