Plan and deliver OpenAI's B2B events, conferences, and executive gatherings.
About the Role
This Events Manager will help plan and deliver OpenAI’s B2B events, including third-party conferences, customer learning, enablement, and training programs, and enterprise flagship, executive, and customer gatherings. You’ll own key workstreams across guest experience, front-of-house operations, agencies and vendors, production logistics, and event reporting, working closely with the enterprise events team.
We’re looking for someone who is attentive to detail, calm under pressure, and thoughtful about hospitality for enterprise customers, prospective customers, business leaders, and senior partners. You’ll bring sound judgment and the ability to turn business objectives into well-run experiences that build relationships and help people understand how to use OpenAI’s technology.
In this role you will
Deliver B2B events from initial planning through onsite execution, coordinating agencies, registration, hospitality, catering, production logistics, and the requirements of third-party conferences.
Build and maintain project schedules, with clear milestones, owners, deliverables, and deadlines.
Select and negotiate with venues, caterers, AV providers, and creative production partners, coordinating approvals with Procurement and Legal and meeting OpenAI’s standards.
Own registration, check-in, and guest communications in partnership with Marketing, including outreach before events and follow-up afterward.
Track budgets and spending, process invoices, and complete financial reconciliation and reporting.
Partner with Enterprise Marketing, Field Marketing, Sales, and Product Marketing on audiences, program goals, and content needs. Coordinate with Design and Production to deliver a cohesive, on-brand experience.
Work with Security and other internal partners on safety and security procedures, accessible event operations, and contingency planning.
Review attendance, engagement, customer feedback, spend, and agreed business outcomes with program owners. Share findings that improve future programs and help assess return on investment.
You might thrive in this role if you
Bring 7+ years of event experience covering planning, onsite delivery, and post-event evaluation, with a strong background in B2B conferences, customer programs, or learning and enablement events.
Enjoy shaping the guest experience and coordinating front-of-house operations and vendors for business audiences, with the discretion and care needed to support executives and customers.
Care about OpenAI’s mission and enjoy helping business audiences explore practical uses of AI through events.
