Job Description:
Darktrace is looking for a Salesforce Functional Consultant to help shape and deliver scalable Salesforce solutions across our business.
Combining strong business analysis skills with Salesforce platform expertise, you'll work across business and technical teams to understand problems, define outcomes and translate business needs into effective solutions.
This is more than a requirements-gathering role. You'll lead discovery, challenge demand constructively and help determine whether the right solution is Salesforce configuration, integration, custom development or business process change. You'll work closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Administrators, Developers and other specialists to take requirements from initial discovery through to delivery and adoption.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead discovery workshops, stakeholder interviews and process-mapping sessions to understand business problems, outcomes and user needs.
- Analyse current and future-state processes, identifying business rules, data requirements, dependencies and cross-functional impacts.
- Translate business outcomes into prioritised epics, features and implementation-ready user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Partner with Product Owners to assess the value, priority and readiness of Salesforce demand and support backlog refinement and planning.
- Work with Architects, Administrators and Developers to support estimation by clarifying scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks and complexity.
- Advise stakeholders on Salesforce capabilities and constraints, promoting configuration-first and maintainable solutions.
- Develop functional solution options spanning process, data, security, automation, reporting, integrations and user experience.
- Configure or prototype declarative Salesforce solutions, including objects, fields, flows, validation rules, approvals, reports, dashboards and page layouts.
- Partner with Solution Architects and technical specialists to validate feasibility, integration requirements and architectural considerations.
- Support testing and UAT, defect triage, release readiness and adoption activities.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve data quality and make better use of existing Salesforce capabilities.
- Build knowledge of adjacent CRM, revenue and marketing platforms to support change across our wider go-to-market technology landscape.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience delivering Salesforce-enabled change, working beyond requirements capture into functional solution design.
- Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Revenue Cloud or CPQ, ideally supporting quote-to-cash or customer lifecycle processes.
- Strong business analysis capability, including workshop facilitation, process modelling, gap analysis, requirements elicitation, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Good working knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including data models, security and sharing, declarative automation, reporting and user experience configuration.
- Experience assessing solution options and articulating the trade-offs between configuration, integration, custom development and business process change.
- Experience supporting demand assessment and estimation by defining scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks and solution complexity.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Salesforce Administrators, Developers, Test, Data and Integration teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge requirements constructively and navigate competing priorities.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving Agile environment and adapting as business needs evolve.
Nice to Have
- Understanding of APIs, enterprise integration patterns, identity, data migration or data governance.
- Experience supporting Salesforce release planning, change adoption and operational readiness within a SaaS or technology organisation.
- Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Business Analyst, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant or another relevant consultant credential.
- Experience with project management, engineering or reporting tools such as Asana, Jira, GitHub or Power BI.
Benefits:
23 days’ holiday + all public holidays, rising to 25 days after 2 years of service,
Additional day off for your birthday,
Private medical insurance which covers you, your cohabiting partner and children,
Life insurance of 4 times your base salary,
Salary sacrifice pension scheme,
