AI in this role
Lead Product Manager for AI-native healthcare solutions and clinical-centric frontier AI platform at Sword.
At Sword, we’re building AI to heal billions and unlock humanity’s full potential. In doing so, we’re pioneering AI Care, a fundamentally new approach to healthcare built for medical reasoning, safety, and real-time treatment, not generic technology applied after the fact. As both a clinical-centric frontier AI lab and an applied AI platform, Sword is reimagining how care is delivered at scale, removing traditional barriers like appointments, waiting rooms, and stigma so more people can access the care they need—and ultimately get back to lives lived in full.
Since 2020, Sword has expanded across physical therapy, women’s health, cardiometabolic, and mental health, and is now moving beyond the session to a fully AI-native, 24/7 care program that brings physical activity, therapeutic exercise, psychotherapy, nutrition, and behavior change into one connected experience. More than 700,000 members across three continents have completed over 10 million AI sessions, helping 1,000+ enterprise clients avoid more than $1 billion in unnecessary healthcare costs. Backed by 42 clinical studies, 44+ patents, and more than $500 million raised from leading investors including Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, and Founders Fund, Sword is defining a new standard for healthcare.
AI Proficiency at Sword
AI fluency is a core expectation at Sword. Every candidate is assessed against our three-level framework — be ready to share real examples of how AI is already part of how you work.
-
Explorer (Level 1) — Uses AI daily to boost personal productivity
-
Builder (Level 2) — Creates workflows and tools that elevate the whole team
-
Integrator (Level 3) — Embeds AI into products and processes at scale
Every hire must demonstrate at least Level 1. The expected level will vary depending on the seniority of the role.
Role:
We're looking for a Lead Product Manager to join our Technology organization. This role sits in the middle of everything. You won't own one corner of one product: you'll work across all of Sword's care solutions, on the experiences members touch every day.
It is deeply member facing. What you ship will be seen, used and felt by our members every day, and it will shape how they experience Sword as a whole, not as a set of separate programs.
AI is the foundation of how we build. You'll shape AI-native experiences that make care feel personal, simple and always there, and you'll use AI every day to discover, prototype and ship faster.
This is a role for an owner. We want someone who treats outcomes as theirs, closes every loop, and communicates so clearly that everyone around them knows where things stand and why.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own the outcome, end to end. Define the roadmap and execution for a member-facing area that spans every care solution, and be accountable for the results it delivers;
- Work across everything. Partner with product, design, engineering, clinical, data and growth teams across all solutions to turn many moving parts into one simple, cohesive member experience;
- Build AI-native experiences. Use AI as the foundation, not an add-on, to reinvent how members get care, stay engaged and make progress;
- Stay close to members. Run continuous discovery, read real member conversations and feedback, and let evidence, not opinion, drive priorities;
- Ship fast and learn faster. Prototype, experiment and iterate quickly, and prove impact with clear metrics such as activation, engagement and retention;
- Make the hard calls. Prioritize ruthlessly, say no when it matters, and make trade-offs explicit;
- Communicate with clarity. Write crisp docs, align leaders and teams on direction, and keep stakeholders informed so there are no surprises
What you need to have:
- Extreme ownership: You own outcomes, not tasks. When something breaks, you take responsibility, find the root cause and fix it, without waiting to be asked or looking for someone to blame. You follow through on every commitment and close every loop;
- Solid product management: 5+ years in product management (Senior) or 7+ years (Staff), with a track record of shipping consumer or member-facing products that moved real metrics. Strong in discovery, prioritization, lean delivery and simplifying complex problems into intuitive experiences;
- Excellent communication: You write clearly and concisely, and you can explain the same decision to an engineer, a clinician and an executive. You align people around shared goals, give and take direct feedback, and keep everyone informed;
- Cross-functional influence: Experience working in multi-product or platform-like environments where you lead through influence across many teams you don't manage;
- AI fluency: Hands-on understanding of how AI products are built, evaluated and improved, and you use AI tools daily in your own work;
- Member-first mindset: Deep empathy for users, and the instinct to turn complexity into simple, cohesive experiences;
- Outcome orientation: Fluency in KPIs like activation, engagement and retention, and the habit of proving impact with data;
- Bias for action: You thrive in ambiguity, decide fast, and validate assumptions early.
Nice to have:
- Experience in digital health or other regulated industries

- List these exact terms on your resume: Product Management, Healthcare, AI Products, and Gand Strategy. An applicant tracking system matches the wording, not the idea.
