As a Test Engineer, you’ll join one of our engineering teams to help build and enhance the regulated banking journeys our customers and members rely on.
This is a hands-on quality engineering role requiring strong UK banking knowledge, including Know Your Customer processes, customer onboarding and the systems and integrations that support them. You’ll combine this domain expertise with modern engineering practices to make sure quality, security, accessibility and regulatory risk are considered throughout delivery.
You’ll work across exploratory, integration, automated, application programming interface, database, accessibility and production testing. Using technologies including Playwright, WebdriverIO, JavaScript, TypeScript, Postman, SQL and MongoDB, you’ll build reliable and reusable testing solutions.
You’ll also have practical experience testing cloud-hosted applications using Amazon Web Services, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service and Kubernetes, alongside continuous integration and delivery technologies.
Innovation is important to this role. You’ll identify opportunities to modernise quality engineering, including the practical and responsible use of artificial intelligence to improve testing, automation, test data, defect analysis and engineering productivity.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our Swindon office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.
If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.

You’ll modernise our testing approaches using automation, cloud technologies and artificial intelligence, while providing clear evidence to support risk and release decisions.
