Senior Data Analyst – Wholesale Banking & Advanced Analytics

Help shape data-driven decisions across ING's Wholesale Banking network

As part of Wholesale Banking Advanced Analytics, you'll work with large-scale datasets, modern analytics platforms, and international stakeholders to deliver insights that improve operational efficiency, support strategic decision-making, and enhance client experiences across ING's global banking network.

This role combines business understanding, analytical expertise, and modern data tooling to transform complex data into actionable outcomes.

The Impact You'll Make

You'll work closely with Product Managers, Tribes, Process Leaders, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to identify opportunities, solve business problems, and deliver scalable analytical products.

Your analysis will support critical Wholesale Banking processes and help stakeholders make better, faster, and more informed decisions.

Unlike traditional reporting-focused analyst roles, you'll own the journey from business question to analytical solution, collaborating across multiple teams and domains while contributing to ING's broader analytics strategy.

Work Model

As part of a globally distributed organization, you'll collaborate with colleagues across multiple ING locations while contributing to AI solutions that support international banking operations.

What You'll Drive

You will:

• Analyze large and complex datasets using SQL, Python, and PySpark.
• Develop reporting solutions, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI, Cognos, or similar BI platforms.
• Identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and improvement opportunities across Wholesale Banking processes.
• Translate business requirements into analytical solutions and actionable recommendations.
• Work with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to deliver scalable analytics products.
• Support data quality initiatives, profiling activities, and analytics best practices.
• Communicate analytical findings through presentations, dashboards, reports, and stakeholder discussions.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing within the analytics community.
• Support teams working on predictive analytics, machine learning, and AI-enabled solutions through your analytical expertise.

We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical capabilities with business curiosity and a passion for turning data into impact.

You likely bring:

• 4-6 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, statistics, or a related field.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with Python, particularly PySpark.
• Experience with data visualization and BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, or Superset.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, reporting methodologies, and quantitative problem-solving techniques.
• Experience working with large datasets and complex data environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to understand and support machine learning and AI-driven initiatives.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Experience with dbt, modern data platforms, financial services, banking analytics, or data pipelines will be considered an advantage.

Successful candidates combine technical depth with business understanding, communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and continuously seek opportunities to improve how decisions are made through data.
