Job Description Summary:

Job Description

The Senior Director, Franchise Strategy & Transformation leads the South Region long-range planning and transformation agenda, connecting the multi-year LRP to the annual JBP through a focused portfolio of strategic initiatives, new capabilities, and operating-model changes. The role identifies future growth pools and the capabilities required to unlock the South Region’s next chapter of growth, then works with Coca-Cola United and priority South Region Mainstream bottlers to design, test, embed, and scale new ways of working. The role has direct regional ownership of de-averaging, eCommerce, and digital, including digital merchandising, and leads the associated strategy, business cases, capability building, adoption, and value realization. The Senior Director partners with Operations, Commercial, RTM & FSOP, Intelligence, and bottler leaders to integrate successful capabilities into core business plans and operating routines. Core-business and bottler leaders retain accountability for sustained business delivery once capabilities are embedded and scaled.

What You’ll Do for Us

  • Lead the South Region long-range planning process, building the strategic fact base, identifying future growth pools, framing where-to-play and how-to-win choices, and translating approved choices into a sequenced multi-year roadmap.
  • Connect the LRP to the JBP by converting multi-year priorities into annual initiatives, capability milestones, investment requirements, named owners, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Own the South Region transformation capabilities, establishing clear priorities, business cases, stage gates, interdependencies, resource recommendations, risks, and measures of adoption and value realization.
  • Lead the South Region de-averaging agenda, partnering with Marketing, Intelligence, RGM, Commercial, and Operations to differentiate choices by consumer, market, geography, channel, customer, occasion, and outlet opportunity.
  • Lead the South Region eCommerce capability agenda with bottler partners, defining the consumer, media, commercial, customer, data, execution, and operating-model capabilities required and integrating priorities into relevant business and customer plans.
  • Lead the regional digital capability agenda, including digital merchandising, translating enterprise capabilities into practical South Region and bottler applications that improve customer engagement, selling routines, outlet execution, decision-making, and performance management.
  • Build capabilities jointly with Coca-Cola United and priority Mainstream bottlers through capability assessments, future-state design, pilots, training, tools, routines, and change plans that enable sustained bottler ownership.
  • Develop quantified business cases and value hypotheses for transformation priorities, including expected growth, productivity, capability, investment, and adoption outcomes.
  • Lead initiatives from concept through pilot and scale, establishing clear success criteria, governance, milestones, decision rights, and corrective actions when adoption or value realization is off track.
  • Establish transition plans for successful capabilities, including receiving-owner readiness, operating routines, measures, resources, and governance required for sustained ownership within Operations, Commercial, RTM & FSOP, or another appropriate core-business function.
  • Maintain active partnerships with bottler and South Region leaders, ensuring transformation priorities reflect market realities and that frontline learning improves strategy, capability design, and scaling decisions.
  • Codify successful approaches into practical playbooks and support replication across relevant United and Mainstream bottler markets while allowing for local adaptation.
  • Recommend when initiatives should be accelerated, redesigned, transferred, or stopped based on strategic fit, adoption, business impact, and resource requirements.
  • Provide clear recommendations to the Vice President, Franchise Leadership on strategic choices, transformation priorities, investment trade-offs, capability gaps, and risks requiring leadership action.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 or more years of experience across franchise leadership, commercial strategy, operations, digital, eCommerce, strategy, or transformation roles in a CPG, beverage, retail, or similarly complex system.
  • Demonstrated success leading long-range planning and translating multi-year strategic choices into annual business plans, sequenced initiatives, investments, and measurable outcomes.
  • Proven track record designing and scaling new capabilities or operating models from business case through pilot, adoption, value realization, and transition into core-business ownership.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including opportunity sizing, business-case development, investment trade-offs, P&L implications, and performance measurement.
  • Experience leading digital, eCommerce, data-enabled, segmentation, de-averaging, or related capability agendas with measurable business impact.
  • Proven ability to influence senior Company and bottler stakeholders, lead cross-functional teams without direct authority, and convert strategic debate into clear decisions and action.
  • Ability to combine consumer, customer, marketplace, financial, and frontline insights to identify growth opportunities and build practical capabilities.
  • Strong change leadership, adoption, and value-realization discipline, with the judgment to scale, redesign, transfer, or stop initiatives based on evidence.
