AI in this role
Our design team sits at the intersection of complex operational systems and human-centered thinking - making the invisible infrastructure that moves everything work better for everyone. You are joining a team with a unified vision. Every designer here contributes to the same mission: building world-class experiences that make Amazon's delivery network safer, faster, and more rewarding for the people who power it.
At Amazon Delivery Experience (ADX), our Freight team designs the systems that move freight across America—matching thousands of shippers with carriers, and turning one of logistics' messiest, highest-stakes problems into experiences people can actually rely on. We're looking for a growth-minded Senior UX Designer to own a core part of that experience end to end, partnering closely with product and engineering to ship solutions that touch millions of shipments and thousands of businesses.
In this role, you'll get out of the pixels and into the field—spending time with shippers, carriers, and operators to understand their real constraints, then translating what you learn into clear, usable designs. You'll own the user experience for a focused workstream, drive it from ambiguity to launch, and partner with designers across the org to raise the bar on craft and coherence.
If you're energized by hard problems, thrive in ambiguity, and want to see your work reshape how an entire industry moves, we want to hear from you.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design for complex logistics workflows — from problem framing and user research through prototyping, launch, and post-launch iteration
- Partner with product, engineering, and data science to define problems, evaluate trade-offs, and align on solutions that balance customer needs with business goals
- Map full customer journeys using service blueprints and system models to identify friction, gaps, and opportunities across the product lifecycle
- Establish interaction patterns and visual standards that ensure coherence across product surfaces, and leverage generative AI tools where they accelerate prototyping and iteration
- Mentor designers on the team, define collaborative processes, and raise the overall quality bar for design delivery
A day in the life
You might start your morning reviewing research findings from a recent shipper interview, then jump into a working session with your product manager and engineers to align on scope for an upcoming release. After lunch you're sketching flows for a new carrier-matching experience, pressure-testing edge cases with your engineering partner, and wrapping up with a design critique where you coach a teammate on information architecture. Throughout, you're moving between strategic thinking and hands-on craft.
About the team
Our Freight design team within Amazon Delivery Experience tackles some of the most complex systems in logistics. We work alongside engineers, product managers, and data scientists to build experiences that touch millions of shipments and thousands of businesses. You'll join an inclusive, collaborative group where every designer contributes to a shared mission: making Amazon's freight network more reliable and more intuitive for the people who depend on it.
