Meet the Team
Ciscoβs Industrial IoT (IIoT) Business Unit powers the critical infrastructure of the worldβconnecting and securing the smart grids, automated factories, connected roadways, and energy systems that keep society running. We bridge the gap between complex industrial operational technology (OT) data and intuitive, high-performance software.
We are a collaborative, forward-thinking global team building the next generation of user-centric management interfaces and on-premise solutions (such as Field Network Director) that manage industrial routing and switching networks. Here, youβll work in an AI-empowered engineering culture alongside passionate software engineers to turn complex network telemetry into seamless customer experiences.
Your Impact
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java backend services and intuitive, responsive ReactJS front-end interfaces to simplify complex industrial and network management workflows.
- Architect and optimize relational database models using Oracle and PostgreSQL, ensuring high data integrity, low-latency querying, and robust transaction handling.
- Leverage modern AI development and code generation tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) in daily engineering workflows to accelerate feature delivery, automate unit testing, and elevate code quality.
- Build, deploy, and maintain robust enterprise on-premise management solutions using Docker containers.
- Partner with cross-functional networking and software teams to develop features that monitor, configure, and manage industrial routers and network infrastructure.
- Champion clean code standards, comprehensive unit testing, and peer code reviews in an agile environment.
Minimum Qualifications (Must-Have Skills):
We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer with 4+ Years of relevant experience and a Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong development experience in Java, with practical expertise in Spring Boot and application servers like JBoss
- Proficiency in building modern, adaptable user interfaces using ReactJS (or Angular).
- Experience with relational databases (Oracle and PostgreSQL), including query optimization, along with developing and deploying on-premises software solutions using Docker container environments.
- Understanding of Network Management Systems (NMS), network protocols, or experience working on enterprise networking/router products.
- AI Tool Awareness: Hands-on familiarity with AI-assisted coding and code generation tools (e.g., Augment, Codex) to improve development efficiency, productivity, and code quality.
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):
- Scripting and automation experience in Python for tooling, test harnesses, or data processing.
- Familiarity with Cloud-Native technologies and architectures (e.g., microservices, Kubernetes, REST APIs).
- Experience with industrial IoT protocols, device telemetry, or network routing/switching configuration.
