About the team
We build the platform that lists and settles event contracts on our CFTC-regulated exchange. That covers sports, crypto, and other real-world events.
Our systems take in data from several sports and market providers, turn each event into tradeable contracts, and settle them correctly once the event ends. Settlement moves real money, so correctness and auditability matter as much as speed.
We are moving the platform from Python and Airflow to Go services built around Postgres, and you’ll help build it.
What you’ll do
- Build and run Go backend services that list and settle event contracts around the clock.
- Move existing workflows from Python/Airflow to Go services and durable job processing.
- Build data integrations with sports and market providers, with careful handling of retries, duplicates, and late data.
- Implement settlement rules and edge cases, including corrections, cancellations, and voided markets, with thorough test coverage.
- Contribute to design docs and code reviews, and own features from design through production.
- Build operator tools using React/TypeScript for manual listing, settlement, and approvals.
- Take part in on-call and help debug production issues end to end.
What we’re looking for
- 3–5+ years building production backend services.
- Proficiency in Go, or strong experience in another backend language plus a clear willingness to work primarily in Go.
- Hands-on Postgres experience, including:
- Schema design
- Writing efficient queries
- Transactions
- Migrations
- Understanding of concurrency, idempotency, and failure handling in distributed systems.
- A record of shipping and running services on your own.
- Clear communication and an interest in growing into technical leadership.
- Experience with prediction markets, sportsbooks, exchanges, or sports data feeds.
- Experience with payments, ledgers, or other money-related systems.
- Redis, Kafka, or Postgres-backed job queues such as River or similar.
- Python and Airflow.
- React/TypeScript.
- AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD.
- Startup experience.
