About the Team:

The Fluids Factory team turns raw metals into intricate fluid subassemblies to distribute fuel, oxidizers, and compressed gasses throughout Terran R’s various systems. Engineers and technicians work side by side, with deep collaboration and real-time feedback, to shape how we build better and faster. With growing space launch demand and an ambitious scaling strategy, it’s up to this team to deliver the right fluids products and manufacturing solutions: solving challenges in real time, optimizing for scale, and constantly improving processes. As the vehicle evolves, so will the factory, with opportunities to apply automation, machine learning, and advanced technologies. What we build here sets the blueprint for the future of scaled launch.

This is a 1st shift position with a standard schedule of 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM PT, Monday through Friday. Please note that this position is structured around a baseline expectation of a 50-hour workweek, which may include occasional overtime as needed to meet operational goals.

About the Role:

• Collaborate with the weld development team and engineering team to develop and perform GTAW weld processes which will include: manual and semi-automated welding of aluminum, stainless steel, and Inconel
• Prepare tooling and parts by trimming, beveling, cleaning, aligning, assembling, and tack welding. Load and unload hardware and tooling using overhead cranes or forklifts. Perform dimensional inspections and prepare parts for non-destructive evaluation (NDE). Own your parts from start to finish
• Identify and resolve issues in the manufacturing process, which could include defects in materials, equipment malfunctions, or inefficiencies in production methods. Work with engineering to implement improvements
• Work alongside teammates to build a culture of safety, precision, and right-first-time
• Foster and inclusive environment for all members of the team
• Help set up and optimize the production shop floor following 5S principles

About You:

•  3+ year’s performing GTAW welding in relevant materials such as Stainless Steel, Inconel, Aluminum, and/or Titanium
• Proficient in material preparation and joint fitting for welding
• Strong documentation skills and ability to follow work instructions and part drawings
• Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Comfortable with measuring and cutting tools

Nice to Have; not required:

•  Familiarity with NDE processes such as dye penetrant (PT), radiography (RT), and ultrasonic inspection (UT / PAUT)
• Clean room experience
