Are you passionate about bridging the worlds of data, AI, and business to drive meaningful impact in the Life & Health reinsurance space? Do you thrive at the intersection of analytical rigour, quality thinking, and stakeholder collaboration? If so, this could be the role for you.
About the Role
As a Technical Business Analyst within Life & Health Re, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering AI-driven capabilities that are transforming how Swiss Re manages and monitors its global L&H portfolio. You will act as the critical bridge between business stakeholders, AI/data teams, and technology delivery — ensuring that solutions are not only well-specified and rigorously tested, but trusted, adopted, and built to last. This is a high-impact role at the heart of one of Swiss Re's most exciting strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and nurture trusted relationships with internal L&H business partners across underwriting, in-force management, operations, and actuarial functions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to brainstorm ideas, shape use cases, and define MVP scope aligned with the long-term AI product vision
- Capture and document complex business requirements, translating them into clear, actionable functional and non-functional specifications that reflect real business value and operational realities
- Analyze business problems using data-driven approaches, leveraging SQL-based analysis to uncover insights and support decision-making
- Translate business requirements into structured analytical thinking, working closely with AI and data teams to ensure model outputs, recommendations, and reasoning align with business expectations

- Define and execute functional test scenarios for data, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions, ensuring solutions meet agreed business requirements
- Perform UAT and functional testing, analyzing defects, identifying root causes, and collaborating with delivery teams to propose effective solutions
- Ensure high-quality releases through structured test planning and execution
- Support defect resolution, production incident analysis, and problem management, acting as a business-facing point of contact during early production usage
- Participate in go-live readiness activities, including validation, sign-offs, and post-go-live support to ensure adoption and stability
- Step up during peak cycles, demonstrating flexibility and dependability to meet critical delivery deadlines
About the Team
Life & Health Data & Analytics Engineering is a strategic technology partner for Swiss Re's Life & Health Reinsurance division — and we are just getting started. Sitting at the forefront of transforming the data landscape, the team builds innovative analytical products and capabilities that enable better, faster, data-driven decisions across the entire business value chain. As part of the broader Advance with AI initiative, the team is actively building and delivering AI-driven capabilities across end-to-end L&H operations and in-force management — leveraging Swiss Re's rich global data foundation and enterprise business applications to enable continuous portfolio monitoring, actionable insights, and reasoning-enabled workflows in a regulated environment.
About You
You are a curious, detail-oriented professional who brings both analytical depth and strong communication skills to everything you do. You are equally comfortable diving into data as you are facilitating a requirements workshop with senior business stakeholders. You take quality seriously — not as a checkbox, but as a mindset — and you bring structure, rigour, and a collaborative spirit to complex, fast-moving delivery environments. You are energised by the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI solutions and are motivated by seeing your work make a real difference in how business decisions are made.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- 2–3 years of hands-on business analysis and data analysis experience, with a proven ability to translate complex business needs into clear functional specifications
- Strong functional testing and QA background within complex data or technology solutions, including experience defining test scenarios, performing UAT, and managing defect resolution
- Hands-on SQL experience for data analysis, validation, and investigation within data platforms or analytics environments
- Life & Health insurance or reinsurance domain experience, with an understanding of underwriting, in-force management, or actuarial workflows
- Experience working with data platforms, analytics solutions, or AI-enabled products, with the ability to validate outputs and support business adoption
These are additional nice to haves:
- Exposure to AI / GenAI concepts, including prompt engineering, and an interest in how these technologies are applied in a business context
- Experience supporting AI-driven decision support or monitoring solutions
- Familiarity with model governance, explainability, or regulatory expectations in a data or AI context
- Exposure to in-force management, portfolio analytics, or underwriting workflows
- Experience working in large, global enterprise environments with cross-functional, agile delivery teams
- Familiarity with structured stakeholder management in complex, matrixed organizations
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
