Admissions Executive

The Admissions Representative interviews patients on admission, records required personal information, secures signatures, and prepares and supplies patient data to appropriate hospital departments.

3.1. Admits patients by receiving bookings from physicians; confirming admitting privileges of physicians; interviewing patients; entering patient information to pre-admissions database.

3.2. Liaise with Scheduling to validate the insurance cover for all scheduled patients.

3.3 Confirm co-payments and patient’s acceptance of liability for excesses/insurance shortfalls.

1. Communicate any queries or authorization from non-contracted insurances to Business Office.
   1. Pre-register all patients on Meditech.
   2. Liaise with Medical Records to prepare chart for admission.
   3. Confirm patient demographics on Meditech on arrival of patient to admissions dept.
   4. Follow business process requirements with regard to insurance form completion.
   5. Collect payment of fees, insurance excess or co-payments at point of admission and provide

invoice and receipt to patient.

1. Be competent with entry of payments via Cash Drawer routine in Meditech and balance all payments at end of shift.
   1. Liaise with Bed Manager and/or nurse managers to assign ward or room.
   2. Escort patient or arrange escort to assigned room or ward.
   3. Comply with departmental and Hospital Policies and Guidelines.
   4. Participate in meetings as requested, and contribute to the on-going development of the

department and Hospital.

1. Create an environment that encourages teamwork, positive attitudes and high morale.
   1. Participate in other duties that may be assigned due to developing departmental requirements.
   2. Participate in shift roster to provide the required cover in admissions at all times.
   3. Comply with all OSH (occupational health and safety) and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements
   4. Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
   5. Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
   6. Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports
      1. Comply with Waste management procedures and policies
      2. Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
      3. Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems

• Diploma / Degree with Ms. Office Knowledge and Typing skills.

• Command of oral and written English, Arabic desirable not mandatory

• Prior working in Admission office or Patient service area

• Minimum 2 year of experience in healthcare
